At Williams-Sonoma, we are proud of our diverse backgrounds within the organization. To celebrate the diversity in the Singapore office and to commemorate United Nations Day, we came together to showcase the different ethnicities and nationalities within the teams. Still reeling from the Paris Olympics, this year’s theme is all about sports. The different ethnic groups and nationalities showcased their celebrity sportspersons and unique national sports from their respective groups. The associates also got around to play miniature sports activities, which were cheekily named after movie titles like “Broken Arrow” and “UP!”. Coupled with all the traditional snacks and food from the various ethnic groups, all associates experienced immense joy throughout the day as they got had the opportunity to learn and appreciate the diverse backgrounds of their colleagues!” #unitednationsday #diversity #sports #fun #food

In commemoration of Universal Children Day in November, the WS-Global Operations organization across multiple countries came together to give back to their local community of children, often from underprivileged backgrounds or those with special needs. These activities came in the form of organizing for a charity drive, interacting with their children through fun games and learning activities, donation of basic necessities and even playing sports with them! The WS-Singapore Office recently held our quarterly townhall with a Christmas theme! In line with the WSGO Global Leaders summit, the Global Leaders were here in Singapore to share with associates more about their individual regions! It was a great experience for all the associates to meet the global leaders and also learn more about the global business. During the townhall, we welcomed new joiners and celebrated the contributions of 6 recipients of the Long-Service Awards! Congratulations to the recipients for all your contributions and service throughout the years! We later shared more about our achievement in attaining the SGEnable Enabling Mark Silver and then ended off the townhall with a Christmas quiz and food! The WS SG office held a fundraiser carnival to help raise funds for Beyond Social Services, a non-profit organization based in Singapore, dedicated to reducing poverty and delinquency among children and youths. The fundraising, which culminated with the carnival, actually began a month ago. Our entrepreneurial associates sold their crochet craft work, vacuum packed coffees, muffins, cakes, cookies and much more via an eCatalogue. At the carnival, even more fundraising activities were conducted, from games booths, to open karaoke, to purchasing fresh bakes, to sipping on freshly brewed coffees and hot chocolate, to thrifting samples from our garage sale! The day kicked off with a beautiful Hawan Ceremony and Puja, setting the perfect tone for the festivities. Celebrating Vietnamese Women’s Day. In Vietnam, we celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March and Vietnamese Women’s Day on 20 October. Vietnam celebrates Vietnamese Women’s Day with various activities at workplaces and in communities to honor women in work, life and society. Our WSGO Vietnam team organized various activities at our WSGO office. Teams joined in a cooking class held by our Furniture Engineering team to make rice dumpling with banana leaves. Our talented painting artist from our Finishing team painted colorful photo frames to help commemorate this special day.  We expressed our appreciation messages for October 20th and the spirit of this celebration with hashtags and colorful balloons. #vietnamesewomensday
