  • We are honored to be the recipient of two ACEC Virginia Engineering Excellence Awards this year – a Grand Award for the Wargaming Center at Marine Corps Base Quantico and a Merit Award for the Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center. The Wargaming Center is a new, 100,400 SF state-of-the-art facility that provides our Marine Corps with a dedicated space to conduct strategic wargame planning, tactical simulations, and essential research and evaluation of innovative technologies. The Wiley Wilson | Burns & McDonnell Joint Venture provided planning and full design services for this essential design-bid-build project. The Center houses an auditorium, gaming classrooms, cell rooms, breakout rooms, game cell rooms, white cell rooms, a conference room, Secret Internet Protocol Router spaces, a production room, a graphics production room, and Secure Compartmented Information Facility spaces. As a Grand Award winner, the Wargaming Center is eligible to win ACEC’s Pinnacle Award which is presented to the top project in the Commonwealth.   The new Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center serves as home to a portion of Virgnia veterans. Working alongside orcutt I winslow, Wiley|Wilson provided planning, architectural and engineering design services, and construction administration for this revolutionary care center. The design of the Veterans Care Center promotes a sense of community and resident comfort through our team’s emphasis on small house care. Design elements consider well-being, safety, and enjoyment of the advanced amenities. Sophisticated technology systems ensure the safety of residents with memory care issues and household wings contain dining/kitchen areas, a den, a living room, and enclosed outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy safely.   We are thrilled at the success of these two very special projects! #ACECVA #EEA #architecture #engineering #design

  • Our team had a great time at the Federal Small Business Conference in #NOLA this past week! This year’s turnout saw a record of 6,000+ attendees, giving us plenty of opportunities to network and meet with firms and agencies within the #Federal AEC and Facility Management industry. As a bronze-level sponsor, we had the pleasure of sponsoring a special event at the National World War II Museum, along with co-sponsoring an additional event after the conference. These occasions allow us to extend our reach and expand our partnering and work relationships within the federal market. Looking forward to the next one! #SBC2024

  • October is National Employee Ownership Month! Wiley|Wilson has been 100% employee-owned since 2000, and we love spreading the word about how this decision continues to create so many advantages for our team and clients. Although we celebrate our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (#ESOP) year-round, we take extra time to recognize it in October with special activities for our employee-owners! During ESOP month, we are also participating in ESOPathon which is a month-long fundraising event that benefits the Employee Ownership Foundation’s mission to protect and help ESOPs succeed. Interested in employee-ownership? Check out our job openings here: https://lnkd.in/gvaX79R #employeeownership #nationalemployeeownershipmonth

  • Employee-owners from our Atlanta office recently spent a Saturday volunteering with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity supporting the Dan Maddox Memorial build! Our team did their part by installing siding for the special project, which is dedicated to Dan Maddox, Jr., who passed away last year. Dan served in several roles at Atlanta Habitat including Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. He dedicated his life to volunteering and helping those in need in Atlanta through his 25+year involvement with Atlanta Habitat. Our team was joined by Dan’s wife, Debbie, and son to work on the two-story home that commemorates his impact on the community. The build will become home to Tre’Niecia, a hard-working mother, Atlanta-native, and first-time homeowner. Atlanta Habitat has helped more than 5,000 family members achieve affordable homeownership and was voted Best Charity by Atlanta Journal-Constitution readers. We are happy to help serve in their mission of transforming our local communities. #atlantahabitatforhumanity #communityservice #Atlanta

  • Our team spent this Memorial Day weekend at the 2024 GAPPA - Georgia Chapter of APPA Annual Meeting and Tradeshow on Jekyll Island. GAPPA brings together facilities administrators within the Georgia higher education market to network and share best practices related to tackling common challenges seen across campuses. For us, the event was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships with current clients, meet representatives from a variety of GA schools, and reconnect with partner firms. Thanks to all who paid our table a visit! #GAhighereducation #GAPPA2024 #tradeshow

  • Recently, our team gathered for our 13th annual Ownerfest event and, as always, a time was had! Ownerfest brings all of our employee-owners together under one roof to celebrate what it means to be a 100% employee-owned firm. This year’s theme, “Discovering the Hidden Treasures of ESOP”, allowed us to take a deep dive into our core values and how they impact our ownership culture.    Our agenda was jam-packed with activities that highlighted not only these values but also how we all share a personal, vested interest in the company's success which makes us that much more accountable for the quality of our output. Employee-owners took part in discipline-specific sessions, learning more about our ESOP, and a little friendly competition with backyard games! (Tug of war is considered a team building exercise, right?) Ownership drives our culture, and we embody this through our daily internal and client interactions. Ownerfest gives us the opportunity to share in all the benefits of being employee-owned. Thank you to our ESOP Committee for putting on another great event! We are already anticipating next year! #ESOP #EmployeeOwned #ConstantProgress
