  • A recent report has raised eyebrows in the music industry, with claims that Spotify has been using "ghost artists" since 2017 to reduce royalty payments to musicians. According to sources, the streaming giant has been working with anonymous artists or track generators to create music that is streamed extensively, but without direct royalty payments going to well-known or mainstream artists. This practice, if confirmed, could have significant implications for both the music industry and how royalties are distributed. The use of "ghost artists" could allow Spotify to control the cost of licensing, but at what cost to the transparency of how royalties are allocated? It raises important questions about the ethics of music streaming platforms and the financial sustainability for artists in a digital-first world. Main Points: -Allegations that Spotify has been using "ghost artists" since 2017. -Impact on transparency and royalty distribution for musicians. -Raises ethical questions about the economics of music streaming. Questions for the Community: -How do you think the music industry can ensure fair compensation for artists in the streaming era? -What steps should platforms like Spotify take to ensure transparency in how royalties are distributed? -How do you feel about the practice of "ghost artists"? Is it a business strategy or an ethical concern? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insights on this evolving situation!👇 #Spotify #MusicIndustry #RoyaltyDistribution #GhostArtists #MusicStreaming #MusicEconomics #ArtistCompensation #MusicTech #MusicBusiness #DigitalMusic #StreamingPlatforms #EthicsInMusic #MusicRoyalties #MusicCommunity

How do I have over 500K followers here (& 100+ recs)?? I speak ‘truth to tech’, share ‘good vibes’, highlight amazing people & companies & have friends in high places. Editor-in-Chief @ Tech For Good. Serial founder/BODs

Will our machines ever be able to make music as good as we humans’? I know a tech + community that can take anyone to the next level with A.I. & just learned that they’re having a massive promotion for EOY that’s too good not to share. Many of you know YouTuber & A.I. influencer Goda Go, & some already know her “AI Productivity Hub” — if so you likely know of her tool JarvisJr., a fully customizable A.I. productivity tool that is one of the simplest yet powerful tools I’ve come across after reviewing hundreds of A.I. tools for AI Logs & now Tech For Good. JarvisJr’s introductory price is $700 (lifetime) & her community is typically over $1,000/yr (it’s so worth it from tutorials, customization, news, support — an empowering community where we all “feel the love” & can literally decode A.I. & make it “work for us” at our own paces), but check out https://lnkd.in/df7-sBvb for free lifetime membership when you purchase the tool (they’re selling the tool for $699 with 30-day money back guarantee & then lifetime membership to the community for $1, after). This community is hosted on Skool, & went from the # 15,786 to now # 101 in only 30 DAYS for a reason (soon #1!). With a money-back guarantee, introductory pricing PLUS lifetime membership of a highly value-add community that truly “has it figured out” where “is” is empowering mass adoption of A.I. > the right way <, it’s a great boost to potentially incredible New Years ahead. Save thousands of dollars, gain hundreds of hours & many, many more thousands of dollars back. As far as music & A.I. generated vs. human talent, I have to say I’m blown away with the output of A.I. generated music by Suno, but do think 4x World Champion DJ Fly who won the 2024 DMC is still far ahead of both all technology as well as all humans — & that humans will likely always be able to add “x-factor” to music & other arts beyond what A.I. can; additionally, we humans are the observers, listeners, & ultimately interpreters of the artistic medium, such as music. I, as a listener, musician & enthusiast am blown away by this set that won DJ Fly the DMCs this year, & at WeJ - Where Everyone's Jamming we are bridging the gap between A.I. & human-generated music with community, instruction, customization, decentralization & reimagined business models, much like Goda — the person I learned about the Professor Synapse super prompt from quite some time ago — is doing for the A.I. space at large. Do check her community & tech out & see what you think! Other companies I believe will have prolific impact on us all in 2025 remain SHIZA, VRFD®, & VERY soon Loving Is (LinkedIn business page coming soon). I’ll be sure to cover all of this ^^ in more depth in the forthcoming Tech For Good newsletter, turning “6 months old” & ready to cross 200K subscribers. • The dance music industry is buzzing about KUVO, powered by DJ Monitor, and for good reason. This groundbreaking service, backed by multiple industry leaders, aims to ensure producers are paid for the music that keeps dancefloors alive. Developed by AlphaTheta Corporation, KUVO leverages cutting-edge Music Recognition Technology (MRT) and Direct Metadata Capture (DMC) to simplify how royalties are tracked and distributed. With MRT devices installed in clubs and metadata captured directly from DJ decks, the system eliminates the need for manual setlist submissions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Here’s a staggering figure: Nightclubs pay over $425 million USD annually to Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) for music rights, yet producers often miss out due to inefficiencies. KUVO’s system currently achieves an impressive 93% identification rate across more than 1 million DJ sets. This raises important questions: - How can technology like KUVO reshape the future of music royalties? - What more can we do to support the creators behind the tracks we love? - Producers, DJs, and club owners; how do you see this impacting the industry? Let’s spark a conversation about transparency, fairness, and innovation in music! #FairPay #MusicTechnology #DanceMusic #MusicInnovation #Support

Are stars born or made? We all are stardust, but even the most popular A.I. models disagree on if stars ⭐️ are born or made. Evidently intelligence is subjective & fluid, as are definitions, seemingly. When asked whether ‘stars are born or made’, the following models provided the following responses: Chat (fka ChatGPT): “Stars are born through a natural process in the universe, but their “making” is driven by physical laws & cosmic conditions. Stars are not “made” in the sense of manual creation but are shaped by cosmic events & interactions over millions of years.” Claude: “Both - stars quite literally go through a birth process in space, but they're also "made" by the physical forces & conditions that bring them into being.” Perplexity: “Stars are born from the gravitational collapse of dense regions within clouds of gas & dust, known as molecular clouds. As these regions condense, they form protostars, which eventually ignite nuclear fusion in their cores, becoming fully-fledged stars. This process can take millions of years & is crucial for star formation in the universe. Thus, stars are not made artificially; they originate naturally through cosmic processes involving gas & dust accumulation & gravitational forces.” Gemini: “Stars are born, not made.” So, while they don’t differ drastically, their interpretations certainly do vary, much like many of our definitions of AGI, success, & various other things. Which begs the question of if you think stars, such as Zhang Sixuan, the 9-year old champion in this video who recently won the 2024 World Shaolin Kung Fu championship, were “born with it”, are “self-made”, or somewhere in between. I made the song in this video using Suno v4, where I also made my new favorite song “LinkedIn Influencers Love (Our Haters)” https://lnkd.in/d-B_u8_M (listen now). Also, after delivering this keynote (> 20-mins) at the Global Leaders Summit https://lnkd.in/dat694Rv (check it out) I was invited to join PepTalk as a speaker (find my profile here https://lnkd.in/d5JwXHxX — they’re the leading platform for experts & I’m beyond honored to be part of them). Finally, if you’re not already plugged-in to my weekly LinkedIn newsletter Tech For Good, I invite you to check it out here https://lnkd.in/d6AT-8fG & if you love it but aren’t yet one of the 195K+ subscribers it’s amassed in its first 6 months — the best time to change that is RIGHT NOW. I share my definitions there & welcome yours, “discover stars” worthy of highlighting (tech & people alike), & generally just aspire to keep us all “ahead of the curve together” because – as we all know – together we rise! Have a great Sunday & close to 2024. 🎥 VC: @sherilevy_journeytoorganic IG via @jimkwik with HUGE congrats to the extremely talented Zhang Sixuan #techforgood #starpower #ai #agi #talent #coryconnects #shaolin #kungfu

  • Can AI mix better than a real mix engineer? iZotope’s AI-powered Neutron 5 has been put test to find out. From its intelligent EQ to its dynamic mix balancing, Neutron 5 leverages machine learning to suggest precise adjustments tailored to your tracks. But here’s the big question: can it truly rival the ear and intuition of a seasoned human mix engineer? AI tools like Neutron 5 are undeniably reshaping the audio production landscape. They’re great for speeding up workflows, offering mix suggestions, and even training the ears of aspiring engineers. However, creativity and human touch remain irreplaceable in many aspects of mixing. Here’s what we discovered: 1. Speed and Efficiency: Neutron 5 excels at diagnosing mix issues and offering solutions in seconds, perfect for tight deadlines. 2. Customization: While AI suggestions are solid starting points, they still need human refinement to match the emotional and artistic intent of a track. 3. Creativity: AI can’t yet replicate the nuanced decisions made by an engineer who understands the story and vision behind the music. The verdict? AI is a powerful tool, but it works best as an assistant, not a replacement. What’s your take on AI in music production? Let’s discuss! #MusicProduction #AIInMusic #MixEngineering #AudioTechnology #FutureOfSound
