Riverside County has proudly supported Voltu Motor Inc. over the past few years, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations on the announcement of their new headquarters and manufacturing facility in the City of Riverside! Today, a welcoming ceremony at Riverside City Hall celebrated Voltu’s arrival as a key addition to the county’s and city’s growing technology hub. Riverside’s thriving ecosystem, with access to a robust talent pipeline, four higher education institutions, and the California Air Resources Board’s Southern California headquarters, provides the perfect foundation for Voltu’s innovative endeavors. As part of the Clean Air Act, the EPA is phasing in new emissions regulations for light- and medium-duty vehicles to reduce greenhouse gases and pollutants, covering model years 2027 through 2032. Voltu stands out in the market as the only company capable of electrifying Class 3 commercial trucks across light-, medium-, and heavy-duty applications. Their cutting-edge electric batteries are half the size and weight of other options, offering a 350-mile range and recharging in just 40 minutes, and have zero emissions—an impressive advancement in sustainable transportation technology. Over the next 3 years, Voltu anticipates creating over 400 direct jobs and support to an additional 1,400 indirect jobs, contributing significantly to the region’s economic growth and sustainability.
