Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Matthew Benenati, DO, as the latest addition to our practice.    Dr. Benenati, has a well-rounded and accomplished background in the medical field. He completed his medical school training at LECOM in Erie, PA, before going on to Rowan University in New Jersey for his internship and residency. He then further honed his skills by completing a MIS fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center. For the past 8 years he has been a practicing general surgeon.     Dr. Benenati is a proud husband and father. Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Douglas Gregg, APRN, FNP-C, as the latest addition to our practice.    Douglas graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner. At the UIC College of Nursing, he was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Prior to becoming a NP, Douglas was a staff nurse for 7 years working in medical-surgical, neuro stepdown, and neuro ICU at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In the past 8 years as an FNP, He has practiced as a primary care provider, an immediate care provider, and as a locum tenens provider in occupational health and neurology.     Doulgas is married to his wife, Erin, and they recently celebrated their 20th anniversary. They have two children together, their daughter, Lilia, and their son, Skyler. They are raising the children in Evanston, IL, where Doulgas grew up as well. They just welcomed a new family member, a golden retriever puppy, named Reyna. Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Kelly Jo Stroede, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C, as the latest addition to our practice. Kelly Graduated with her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2007 from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania and worked as a registered nurse from 2007 through 2020. During that time, she gained experience in acute hospital care and home care as a registered nurse. Kelly then decided to pursue her nurse practitioner career and graduated in February 2020 from Chamberlain University with a family nurse practitioner specialty track degree and she is certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She worked as a family nurse practitioner for a federally qualified health center (FQHC) for the low income, uninsured, and underinsured populations in Shenandoah Pennsylvania since December 2020 before beginning her career with Vohra Wound Physicians.    Kelly has 3 sons ages 2, 8, and 11 years old and has been married to her husband Ken since 2005. Kelly and her husband were both born and raised in Pennsylvania but have enjoyed the west coast, living in Washington state from 2007 through 2012. Kelly currently lives in Tamaqua, PA with her family and their pet dog (Loki) and cat (Ace). Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Andrea Neve, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, as the latest addition to our practice. Andrea has been in the Nursing Field for over 14 years and has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for over 7 years. She is retired Army. She received her undergraduate degree with a BSN from University of Missouri- Kansas City and her graduate degree with an MSN, APRN, FNP from Pace University in New York.     Andrea has taken part in various research projects with her graduate degree educators. These included Veteran Assisted Service Animals emphasizing those diagnosed with PTSD. She has published an article in a Spanish publication, Dos Mundos, with a focus on Alzheimer's in the Latin population. She has had the opportunity to serve our Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed National Medical Center and trained in mostly Traumatic Battlefield Wounds. Which is what has led her to Wound Care.    Andrea has been married for 28 years, and she has 1 son who is now 26 years old. She has a menagerie of animals, including 4 cats and 2 dogs as well as multiple fish. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and listening to music. As an Army family, she has lived everywhere. Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Virginia Reeser, PA-C, as the latest addition to our practice.    Virginia has been practicing as a Physician Assistant for more than 20 years. She graduated from Yale Physician Associate program and moved to Reading, PA to be closer to her husband. While in Eastern Pennsylvania she worked briefly in surgery but spent most of her time at Hershey Medical Center working in clinical research with end stage heart failure patients. Virginia has helped with research studies that have brought some of the current practices to Cardiology in heart failure such as Ventricular assist devices and medications such as carvedilol. Virginia then moved with her family to Western Pennsylvania where she spent a brief time in Cardiology then progressed to Internal Medicine. From Western Pennsylvania/Ohio, she moved to Western Tennessee to be closer to family. Virginia has a strong interest in wound care as she has found several patients and their families affected by chronic wounds. Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Dr. Katherine Sullivan, D.O., as the latest addition to our practice.    Dr. Sullivan is an alumnus of Cleveland State University, Lincoln Memorial University, and graduated from DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021. She completed her internship in General Surgery at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in 2022. She is arriving fresh from residency and eager to continue caring for skin conditions and wounds.     Dr. Sullivan loves getting to know people of all backgrounds/experiences and she is always learning from everyone she meets. She is interested in treating patients wholly, not just on a physical level, and is a huge advocate for mental health and wellness. She has a special interest in anatomy and pathology, having created a plastinated anatomical specimen that is currently being used to teach future medical students for years to come.     When Dr. Sullivan is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 cats. Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Dr. Stacy-Ann Comer, D.O., as the latest addition to our practice.    Dr. Stacy-Ann Comer is an Army-trained Internal Medicine physician.  She completed her residency training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and served in the military for nearly eight years.  Since then, Dr. Comer has garnered a wide variety of experience in various practice settings including outpatient primary care, hospitalist medicine, nursing home care, acute rehab, and long-term acute care hospitals.  Her interest in wound care began during her time serving as a medical director in nursing homes.  She remains passionate about geriatrics, underserved care, and medical missions.    Dr. Comer is married to Immanuel, an IT Specialist and self-taught multi-instrumentalist.  They have two children named Eliyanah and Ezra.  They live in the suburbs of Charlotte, NC.  When she is not busy seeing patients, she enjoys reading, creative writing, gardening, cooking, and taking aerial classes.   #welcomewednesdays #woundcare #vohrawoundphysicians #vohra #wound #hiring #healthcarejobs #physicianrecruitment #physicianjobs

Vohra Wound Physicians welcomes Dr. Samuel Sawyer, M.D., F.A.C.S., as the latest addition to our practice. Dr. Sam Sawyer attended Enterprise State Junior College and graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.S. in Biology. Medical school followed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Huntsville. A General Surgery residency was completed at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. He has practiced general/breast surgery and endoscopy, wound care, and hospice in the hospital he was born in, Medical Cener Enterprise (Alabama) for 38 years, retiring this past August. He is board certified in all three specialties. He served as the state president of the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Surgeons in 2007/ He has served as a Physician Advisor and as chair/vice chair of the Board of Trustees for Medical Center Enterprise for over 20 years. Dr. Sawyer’s older brother was a general surgeon, now retired, and they practiced together at Enterprise for almost 30 years. Dr. Sawyer has been at Gideon the last several years, making presentations in churches and distributing bibles. Dr. Sawyer has been married to his wife, Jan, for 34 (wonderful) years. They have 3 daughters, Annie, Mollie, and Katie, and all in their mid-20’s, all working in hospital and college careers. Dr. Sawyer’s hobbies include vegetable gardening, beach bumming, hanging out with his dogs, and Alabama football.
