Taste the flavor, style, and soul of Shreveport-Bossier at Orlandeaux’s Cross Lake Café, one of the oldest continuously operating Black-owned businesses in the U.S. 🦐 Each bite tells a story, and no trip to Shreveport-Bossier is complete without their legendary Shreveport-style stuffed shrimp: perfectly seasoned, stuffed with crab meat, and deep-fried to golden perfection. Pair it with the classic Creole Tartar sauce for a true taste of tradition. Chef Damien "Chapeaux" Chapman, the heart behind Orlandeaux’s, isn’t just preserving our culinary heritage—he’s sharing it with the world! 🌍 This New Year’s Day, watch as he represents Shreveport-Bossier in the 2025 Rose Parade 🌹, showcasing our rich culture, vibrant history, and signature Southern flavors on a global stage. This morning, Karen Barnes, VP of Destination Development at Visit Shreveport-Bossier, partnered with AMIKids Caddo to host Career Day, connecting 7th and 8th graders with local industry leaders. Students explored career paths in fields like public safety, hospitality, and construction—many of which don’t require a college degree. By engaging students with local opportunities, this event not only prepares the next generation for success but also strengthens our community's workforce, ensuring future growth and sustainability. Six standout students were awarded Chromebooks for their curiosity and engagement. A huge thank you to all of our partners involved, and our sponsors Prolec GE, and Gilley Enterprises Inc. On November 1st, Caddo Parish Commissioner Ken Epperson hosted a press conference to celebrate our veterans from the Parish of Caddo and the cities of Shreveport, Bossier, and Greenwood. Among the honored guests was Mr. Sam “Archie” Mattox, the community's oldest living veteran at an incredible 105 years young! 🎉 Mr. Mattox will proudly serve as this year’s grand marshal for the Veterans Parade on Sunday, November 10th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fair Grounds. Visit Shreveport-Bossier hosted a not so ordinary FAM.... Our partners went above and beyond to showcase their properties. 🏨 Our guests checked in at the The Remington Suite Hotel and Spa, enjoying custom cocktails at a meet-and-greet, then relaxed with massages at Sam's Town Hotel & Casino, Shreveport. They sipped mimosas at Hilton Shreveport, crafted gourmet s’mores at Hilton Garden Inn, and enjoyed champagne and macarons at Horseshoe Casino & Hotel. Live! Casino Louisiana previewed its 2025 opening on a trolley ride, and the Shreveport Convention Center showcased its 350,000 sq. ft. of event space. To cap off the night, we vibed at the Red River Revel Arts Festival. Experiencing FOMO?
