Newsflash - Dutch expat ruling (30% ruling) The proposed 2025 salary conditions for the Dutch expat ruling and the salary cap have been published by the Dutch tax authorities. Please find a summary of the 2025 numbers below: - General salary condition: EUR 46,660 - Lowered salary condition: EUR 35,468 *for employees younger than 30 years who are holding a qualifying Master’s degree - Salary cap: EUR 246,000 (the Dutch expat ruling will not apply over income exceeding this amount) These amounts will become final once the voting of the Dutch Senate (Eerste Kamer) has taken place on the Tax Plan 2025. This vote is scheduled for next week (17 December) and will also include the proposed amendments to the Dutch expat ruling in relation to the maximum tax-free allowance. In the last 3 months, we (Cees-Jan Neele, Kim van Bergen and Silvijn van Rossen) have worked with a lot of pleasure for the Global Mobility advisory team of Vialto Partners NL. This was an educational, and interesting period, where we have learned a lot about the complexity of Global Mobility-cases. We have had the opportunity to contribute to different projects and to gain knowledge of this field.  It felt good to be a part of the team where our work was appreciated and a real added value. What was even better, was the great atmosphere at the office. Our colleagues were always there to assist us and were never too busy for a short talk. As a result, we have not only developed ourselves professionally, but also really felt a part of the team. In short, we are looking back on a unique experience that we would recommend to everyone with interest in the world of global mobility. Earlier this week our colleagues Niek Schipper and Daan Hajer spoke during the Global Mobility seminar of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers. They discussed the impact of the Supreme Court ruling of 14 October 2022 on the application of the economic employer concept under Dutch tax treaties. It was great to join our Belgian colleagues once again at their annual GM Summit in Grimbergen yesterday. Hugo Vijge presented an immigration update in the tax and legal update, and Ingrid van arendonk & Alexandra van der Veer hosted a breakout session about employee experience.
