We are so lucky to have both Susana and Michael on our board!
Great to see Susana Lopez-Baker at today's holiday party. Susana serves as the ED of Boulder County Housing Authority and is a fellow Board member with Voices for Children - Boulder.
Every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive. Our mission is to provide trained-court appointed special advocates (CASAs) to advocate for children in Boulder County who have experienced abuse and neglect. More than 2,500 children experience abuse and neglect each year in Boulder County, with more than 300 removed from their homes and placed in foster care. Our children are faced with a difficult path, complicated by the physical, psychological, and emotional trauma they have experienced. Boulder Voices for Children is here to advocate for their well-being and to change the trajectory of their lives - one child, one volunteer, one future at a time.

Today, Give the Gift of Advocacy – and Maximize Your Impact Your support on Colorado Gives Day empowers us to continue advocating for the most vulnerable children in our community. By giving on this special day, you’re not only offering financial support – you're providing a child with the hope, stability, and advocacy they need to thrive. Thank you for believing in the power of advocacy. Together, we can ensure that every child with an open dependency and neglect case has the advocate they deserve. Every dollar you donate to Boulder Voices for Children qualifies for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, which decreases the after-tax cost of donations by at least 50%*. We loved working with Andrew Shafer to get our team headshots this year. Check out his work!
There's an inherent feeling of vulnerability when a person steps in front of the lens, and as a photographer I like to allow natural conversation to lead the session while I sprinkle in direction. My favorite part of working with someone on their headshot is learning a little about what or who inspires them! #BusinessHeadshots #HeadshotPhotographer #CorporateHeadshots #ColoradoHeadshotPhotographer #DenverHeadshots #ColoradoHeadshots #NOCOHeadshots

This holiday season, Give the Gift of Advocacy. Help us reach our goal of $40,000 this Colorado Gives Day to ensure that every child in need has a trusted adult advocating for their best interest. Every donation, no matter the size, empowers us to be there for children facing uncertainty. Together, we can create a brighter future for children like Kelsey*. CASA volunteer, Stacey*, has supported Kelsey* through the ups and downs of foster care for three years. Even after reunification between Kelsey and her family, their bond continued to grow into a lasting mentorship. When Kelsey* faced college applications, Stacey* was there, helping her through the process. Thanks to her support, Kelsey* is now attending the University of Colorado Boulder, starting a new chapter of independence with Stacey* by her side. CASA volunteers are the heart of hope, resilience, and change for children in the foster system. I'm so lucky to work with GFM|CenterTable, an agency that values and supports CASA programs. As a CASA and a board member for Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County, I get to witness the incredible impact volunteers have on the lives of children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect. It is deep and long-lasting and meaningful. Please reach out if you're interested in becoming a CASA volunteer and I'll happily share my experiences with you.

Incredible event!
I'm thrilled to share that Kappa Alpha Theta, Beta Iota Chapter's fall philanthropy, CASA 5k, was a huge success! As a member of the philanthropy team, I had the pleasure of organizing this event with Ella Holden, Hannah Wood, Molly Tsang, and Piper Hartman. I also utilized my connections with Prime Nutrition to create a pop up booth selling energy teas. A big thank you to Prime Nutrition for helping me organize this and donating 25% of the proceeds to our cause! I am so proud of the Beta Iota chapter for raising over $50,000 for CASA 5k and over $100,000 in 2024 for Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County and the Theta Foundation! This is the most we have ever raised as a chapter, and we currently hold the top two spots in the nation for Theta fundraising. It is bittersweet that this was my last event to plan with this amazing team. I am going to miss being a part of this, but I am so grateful for this experience! TLAM 💛
