About us
United States Space Command conducts operations in, from and to space to deter conflict, and, if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint/Combined Force and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners. Space Training and Readiness Command launched the United States Space Force's first cyber range squadron, the 33rd Range Squadron. This marks a critical milestone, enhancing the USSF's ability to test, train, and prepare for cyber threats in the contested space domain. “The 33rd will now fill a unique role by setting the arena for our Cyber Guardians ... presenting them with realistic mission terrain in which to hone their Defensive Cyber Operations for Space Systems, in conjunction with high-end fight training and certification events,” said Col. Jay Steingold, Space Delta 11 commander. He reiterated that that the creation of the squadron allows the USSF to present Guardians who are prepared to defend the cyber mission terrain and combat threats in an increasingly complex battlespace. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eeKHWCD8

The National Space Defense Center launched the NSDC Advanced Concept Experimentation (NACE) to enhance space superiority, ISR, and defensive cyber C2 processes, rapidly innovating and optimizing its protect and defend mission. “The NACE experiments are focused on integration and synchronization with mission partners and improving processes and operations holistically,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Jason “J.U.” Utulo, Director of Operations Experimentation. “These experiments enable collaboration to see what processes enable tactical units the flexibility to achieve their warfighting functions. This will help understand what feedback mechanisms the center needs to fulfill Global C2/Battle Management obligations…and just get better at warfighting.” 👉 https://lnkd.in/g_DrCXhT

Rear Adm. Tracy Hines, #USSPACECOM Joint Operations deputy for Global Space Operations, cohosted the DoD Commercial SATCOM Workshop, which brought together approximately 500 military and government leaders from United States Department of Defense combatant commands, services and agencies, and commercial satellite industry operators, service providers, integrators, ground equipment suppliers, and manufacturers. During the event, attendees held open discussions about acquisition, management, and use of commercial SATCOM. "We need to look at how our systems connect, with an eye to interoperability, to support operations. This includes synchronizing technical standards with the DOD, between the DOD and industry, and across different organizations in industry," Hines said. "[Commercial satellite communications providers] have an essential role to play in ensuring the space domain is available where and when our Warfighters need it." USSPACECOM’s co-sponsorship of this event does not constitute federal endorsement of SIA or any other sponsors of this workshop.
