Communications Manager | Making Mondays Happier at Workshop | Building Engaging, Inclusive, and Future-Ready Workplaces With Strategic Internal Comms

Yesterday, we recorded the tenth episode of Talkshop—Workshop's internal podcast! 🎉 This milestone speaks volumes about our leadership's willingness to trying new things, and let me tell you... I’m SO grateful for their support in bringing this to life. As a self-proclaimed podcast connoisseur (I average at least three episodes during my daily commute 😅 ), here's a few highlights that might inspire you to explore a podcast for your #internalcomms channels. 🎙️ By embracing a no-host structure, we’ve featured 25% of our company within the first season. 🎙️ Talkshop is Workshop's seventh internal comms channel (and our first long-form audio), with each episode achieving a 50%+ listen rate from employees. 🎙️ Episodes range from 13 minutes to 43 minutes, offering something for everyone, no matter how much time they have or where they choose to listen. And MOST importantly... 🎙️ Workshop employees genuinely enjoy it. From a new Slack channel dedicated to “yapping” about the podcast (thanks Josh Masen!) to employees proudly sharing their 100% listen rate, Talkshop has become an undeniable part of our culture. When we started this journey, we were open to all outcomes but prioritized one thing: the employee experience. Seeing how Talkshop adds value—and connection—to our growing team is the ultimate reward. If you’ve been thinking about launching an internal podcast or exploring new ways to connect with your team, I’d love to chat and share what we’ve learned along the way!

  • Our 2025 Internal Communication Trends Report surfaced something fascinating, and - let’s be honest - a little ironic. Internal communicators are leaning into data like never before, tracking open rates, click-throughs, and more. But at the same time… measuring results took the top spot as #1 challenge in internal comms. So, what’s going on? The truth is, metrics are just part of the story. Data doesn't dig into the “why.” Why did that campaign resonate? Why do some messages inspire action while others fall flat? Why (and where) do employees really engage? Here’s the good news: combining quantitative data with qualitative insights (like quick pulse surveys or employee feedback) can help you connect the dots. It’s all about turning your data into something human… something that drives real change. Grab a copy of the trends report to help build your 2025 strategy here → https://lnkd.in/gU3fBn6g

Why email is (still) the backbone of internal communications: Did you know 98% of internal communicators say email is a core part of their strategy, and 85% call it their most effective channel? That’s not just a trend - it’s a testament to email’s power to connect people, no matter where they are. At Workshop, we’re not surprised. Here’s why we believe in the enduring power of email for internal comms: - Reach everyone, everywhere: Email is versatile, crossing time zones, roles, and device preferences. It’s a tool that meets almost everyone where they are! - Make it measurable: Unlike posters on the breakroom wall or intranet posts that get lost, email lets you track engagement with open rates, click-throughs, and feedback - making it easy to see what’s working (and improve what’s not). - Meet employees where they are: From major announcements to team updates, email delivers information directly to your team’s inbox when they need it. The numbers from our 2025 Internal Communication Trends Report don’t lie - email isn’t just surviving; it’s thriving as the center of a strong communication strategy.
