We represent and support Area Agencies on Aging and advocate for Title VI Native American Aging Programs.
About us
USAging is the national association representing and supporting the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocating for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs. Our members help older adults and people with disabilities throughout the United States live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities and support their caregivers. USAging and our members work to improve the quality of life and health of older adults and people with disabilities, including supporting people with chronic illness, people living with dementia, family caregivers and others who want to age well at home and in the community. Together, we are ensuring that all people can age well. Our members are the local leaders that develop, coordinate and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services to support people to age well, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs and more. USAging is dedicated to supporting the success of our members through advancing public policy, sparking innovation, strengthening the capacity of its members, raising their visibility and working to drive excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.

“Congress should not leave town until they deliver for older adults and caregivers,” says USAging CEO Sandy Markwood. USAging is urging Congress to act immediately to reauthorize and fully fund the Older Americans Act (OAA) to protect the health, safety and independence of older adults across the nation. The OAA provides vital resources that millions of older adults and caregivers rely on daily, from in-home care and meals to transportation and elder abuse prevention. However, the House has dropped the bipartisan OAA reauthorization from its year-end package, putting these critical services at risk. Learn more about the urgent need for action: https://ow.ly/5bKX50Uve3U.

🛑 Take Action Today: OAA Reauthorization and MIPPA Funding at Risk! 🛑 This week, the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act (OAA) and funding for MIPPA could be dropped from Congress's must-pass spending bill. These programs are critical for supporting older adults, caregivers and Medicare beneficiaries in communities nationwide. 💡 Here’s How You Can Help: 1. Email and call your Representatives NOW to ensure these programs stay in the final spending bill. 2. Use our email template for guidance: https://ow.ly/5bXs50UumM0. 3. Share our Advocacy Alert with your networks to spread the word and mobilize action. If these provisions don’t pass before the year’s end, we face a tough road ahead in the next Congress. Let’s work together to protect OAA reauthorization and MIPPA funding!
