We’re proud of our operations crews who worked through the night to repair Campus Ave. (south of Foothill Blvd.) and Foothill Blvd. (westbound, west of Euclid Ave.). These projects required nighttime work due to the high-traffic locations, and the team showed incredible dedication and professionalism to get the job done efficiently and safely. 🛠 Improving Sidewalk Safety Throughout Upland 🛠 As part of the Sidewalk Repair Master Plan, our Public Works team is addressing minor trip-and-fall hazards around parks and City-owned properties. These efforts support California's Safe Routes to School initiative and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)—helping create safe, accessible pathways for all residents and visitors. 🌳🚶♀️♿ Why Sidewalk Grinding? Sidewalk grinding is a practical and cost-effective maintenance solution for addressing minor height variations caused by factors like tree roots or soil shifts. This method not only improves safety but also extends the life of our sidewalks, offering a low-cost alternative to full replacement. We’re grateful for the patience of our community during these repairs and for those who continue to report hazards through the City’s app. This collaboration allows us to respond more quickly and efficiently, making Upland safer for everyone. 📲 See something?
