Step into the magical world of Oz at Universal Studios Hollywood's Feature Presentation and Hollywood & Dine & Universal Orlando Resort's Wicked: The Experience! 🫧 🧹
"To share a little bit about our overall design inspiration, particularly for the exterior of the Feature Presentation store – we really wanted to focus on the journey to the Emerald City, and to give everyone just a small taste of the fantastical world of Oz that Universal Pictures’ 'Wicked' will transport us to," said Katherine Miranda (Production Designer) and Jonathan Gonzalez (Creative Project Manager) from the Hollywood Placemaking Team.
"We partnered very closely with our friends at Universal Pictures to make sure we were staying true to their vision and creating spaces that feel like it they came right out of the film. From arriving in Glinda’s bubble to holding Elphaba’s broom before she bursts through the window to defy gravity, guests should look forward to fully immersing themselves in all things Oz has to offer," said Sam Funke (Architecture & Engineering Design Manager) and Mike Woodcock (Senior Graphics Manager) from the Orlando Placemaking Team.
Both Universal Creative Placemaking Teams had a Wicked time transforming the spaces in anticipation of the film’s release on November 22. This project was a fantastic collaboration with the Symphony, Branding, Retail, Visual Merchandising, and Food teams within Universal Destinations and Experiences, Universal Pictures, and NBCUniversal. We couldn’t be happier for everyone to experience it! 💚💖
