Chronic homelessness is a challenge we can overcome together. United Way of Greater Cleveland supports Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry’s 2100 Lakeside Emergency Men’s Shelter and their new Fair Chance & Flex Housing Assistance program. In partnership with Cleveland City Council, this initiative offers flexible housing funds, rental assistance, and landlord incentives to help individuals transition from shelters into stable housing. Together, we’re building a stronger, more equitable Cleveland. https://lnkd.in/gD73nJSE

☕ Ugly sweaters, hot chocolate, and holiday cheer—what more could we ask for? ✨ Our team got into the festive spirit with a cozy hot chocolate bar and an epic ugly sweater showdown. From marshmallow-topped mugs to sweaters that left us laughing, it was a fun way to celebrate the season together. Here’s to bringing the same energy and joy into our work supporting Greater Cleveland in the new year! 💙 #UnitedWayCLE #HolidayCheer #TeamSpirit

"You don't have to know all the answers, you just have to know what your need is and raise your hand and ask." The takeaway from our recent panel on supporting older adults in our region is that the best place to start is with a skilled resource navigator. There are many agencies and programs available across our region. Getting connected to the right ones starts with a call to United Way 211. Learn more in our highlight blog: https://bit.ly/4gRzF2b Many thanks to Moderator Drew Maziasz of Ideastream Public Media; Orion Bell, President and CEO, Benjamin Rose; Mark Dorony, Program Manager, United Way Services of Geauga County; and Fatima Perkins, Director of Community Outreach and Advocacy, Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging.

Paychecks have increased for many in recent years, but the number of struggling families in Cuyahoga County remains too high. #UnitedForALICE’s 2024 data shows that 39% of Cuyahoga County households still struggle to make ends meet. Why? As wages went up, so did costs, making it nearly impossible for those working low-wage jobs to keep pace. The basic cost to live in Cuyahoga County in 2022 for a family of four with an infant and a preschooler was $88,644 after tax credits, yet the median income was only $60,736.
