As Thanksgiving approaches, we’re reflecting on the many things we’re grateful for while also being mindful that this holiday can mean different things to different people. November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to learn about and appreciate the rich cultures and histories of Indigenous communities. If you're interested in exploring this further, consider attending a special event. The National Constitution Center is hosting a series of programs in celebration of Native American Heritage Month: https://lnkd.in/eCZFY2FB, and Visit Philly has a guide to more events happening throughout the month: https://lnkd.in/ettHQfcv. Wishing everyone a long-weekend filled with connection, reflection, and renewal.

As the leaves change and the air gets crisper (aka "sweata weatha"), staying safe around railways is important. Here are some essential tips to keep in mind this fall: 1. Avoid Taking Photos on Tracks. 📸 The vibrant fall foliage makes for beautiful photos, but tracks are not the place for them. Always stay off the tracks to avoid dangerous situations. 2. Watch Out for Slippery Leaves. 🍁 Fallen leaves can create slippery conditions on tracks and platforms. Be extra careful when walking or biking in areas where leaves may have accumulated. 3. Stay Alert at Crossings. 🚦Shorter daylight hours and early sunsets can reduce visibility. Always look both ways and listen for trains before crossing. Never assume a track is clear. 4. Keep a Safe Distance. 🚉 Stand behind the yellow line on platforms and stay clear of moving trains, especially when wearing bulky fall clothing that might catch onto something. 5. Educate Others. 💡 Share these tips with your friends, family, and community. Let's enjoy the fall season while prioritizing safety near the tracks. Remember, see tracks, think train!

It was a great day for golf at the 16th Annual USO at PHL Golf Outing on 10/2! Tamara N. Nicholson, PgMP, PMP was happy to join the WTS Philadelphia foursome to support this event, which raised money for the USO Hospitality Programs and Services at the Philadelphia International Airport. An ad hoc auction during the event helped raise over $100,000! The United Service Organization (USO) at Philadelphia International Airport provides a friendly, comfortable place along with many amenities and services for military personnel traveling through the airport. It also hosts the Families of the Fallen program, which offers assistance and consolation to grieving families during their travels to and from Dover Air Force Base to witness the dignified transfer of their fallen heroes. Learn more about the organization and how you can support here: https://lnkd.in/e_Zaafau

We will never forget. Take a moment, wherever you are, to reflect on the significance of this day. If you wish, share a thought or memory in the comments. In times of reflection, let's also remember to prioritize our well-being and check on others, even the "strong ones". #9/11Remembrance #NeverForget

The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics is underway! ⚽ We couldn’t help but notice some exciting initiatives, especially as we gear up to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup here in the U.S.: 🌿 The Olympics is prioritizing sustainability, aiming for 50% less CO2 emissions than previous games: 95% of the event venues are existing or temporary, the Athlete's Village will run on geothermal and solar power, and electric boats will be used for the Opening Ceremony on July 26th. 🤳 With 500,000 daily travelers expected, the Olympics will leverage technology to streamline spectator transportation by using interactive Metro maps, a “Transport Public Paris 2024” app, and transit passes available for purchase via the app. 🎖 The games will showcase cutting-edge innovation, including medals made with recycled iron from Eiffel Tower renovations and using drone-like buoys during the sailing competition to protect the fragile seagrass environment below. What’s your favorite Summer Olympics competition? What sustainability features would you like to see at the 2026 FIFA World Cup? Share in the comments! #2024SummerOlympics #2024OlympicsSustainability #2024OlympicsTransportation #2024OlympicsInnovation
