About us

Ummeed— ek anokha kadam came into existance in ranchi jharkhand on 8th of March 2021. Ummeed is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting menstrual health and hygiene across India. Founded with a vision to empower women and break the taboos surrounding menstruation, Ummeed has made significant strides in its mission over the past three years. Since its inception, Ummeed has reached out to communities in four major cities: Ranchi, Deoghar, Mumbai, and Indore. Through a combination of online sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns, Ummeed has been instrumental in educating and empowering women of all ages about menstrual health and hygiene practices. Ummeed's initiatives focus not only on providing information but also on fostering a supportive environment where women feel comfortable discussing menstruation openly. By challenging stigma and misconceptions, Ummeed aims to create a society where menstruation is viewed as a natural and healthy aspect of women's lives. In addition to its educational efforts, Ummeed also works towards improving access to menstrual hygiene products for women in underserved communities. Through partnerships with local NGOs and government agencies, Ummeed facilitates the distribution of sanitary pads, ensuring that women have access to safe and hygienic menstrual products. Led by a passionate team of volunteers and supported by generous donors, Ummeed continues to expand its reach and impact, striving towards a future where every woman has the knowledge and resources to manage her menstrual health with dignity and confidence.
