To honor Black History Month, our DEIB group hosted a powerful internal seminar, "Bending the Arc of History Towards Justice," featuring the incredible Terrence Franklin. Terrence, a seasoned trust and estate litigator, shared a compelling narrative—discovering his fourth great-grandmother's emancipation through a will contest from the 1840s. His mission, of bending the Arc of History towards Justice, resonated as he recounted the riveting story of Lucy Sutton, her fight for justice, and profiles of other black women whose lives were shaped by antebellum probate judges. This event brought together our team from various offices, fostering dialogue, understanding, and a commitment to justice. A special thanks to Black-owned caterers Spiced Just Right (St. Louis) and Taste Gracefully (Chicago) for providing such tasty lunches. #BlackHistoryMonth #DEIB #JusticeMatters
