When Alejandra found out she was having triplets, she felt everything all at once – happiness because she always dreamed of motherhood, nerves for the road ahead and excitement for the same reasons. After hearing about Doctors Hospital of Laredo, located in Laredo, TX, she knew it was the best option for her and her soon-to-be family. "The team made me feel so special and well taken care of. I absolutely love the NICU team—the ease of the entire process made me confident that my babies were in the best hands possible," Alejandra said. On April 16, Alejandra welcomed her three beautiful baby girls—Leda Fernanda, Macarena Alejandra and Luciana María. However, her path to motherhood came with challenges. Post-birth, Alejandra faced life-threatening hemorrhaging that required immediate treatment. "Ensuring the safety of the triplet girls and Alejandra’s recovery was truly a team effort. Providers in the labor and delivery unit worked together so that three baby girls would have their mother," Dr. José Berlioz, neonatologist, shared.
