About us

Since 1944, the Texas Independent Automobile Dealers Association has been and continues to be the only statewide organization for independent automobile dealers. Whether you sell 10 or 10,000 cars a year, we are your voice in Austin. We are a member-owned, member-governed association that consists of more than 1400 of the best used car dealers in Texas that believe in creating a better image for the industry while protecting their rights as business owners. We are led by a number of dedicated volunteers from across the state and a professional, experienced staff committed to offering valuable programs and services to the independent automobile dealer.

  • TIADA Day at the Capitol is approaching! It is slated for February 11, 2025. This is a unique opportunity for TIADA members to gather in Austin and meet with various political leaders to advocate for legislation relevant to the independent automobile dealership industry. Please join us for a reception on Monday, February 10th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Royal Sonesta Stephen F. Austin Hotel. It's a great chance to visit lawmakers in a more casual setting. Attendance is free, but you do need to register to reserve your place so that we can arrange the appropriate meetings with your corresponding legislators.

  • Earlier this month, TIADA hosted its final two town halls of the year, bringing the metal plate conversation to Donna and El Paso to connect members with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles to discuss the upcoming transition from temporary paper tags to metal plates.
