Setting a New Year’s resolution might feel pointless to some, especially given that only 8% of people achieve them, according to a University of Scranton study. But the act of setting resolutions itself can be powerful—it’s a deliberate way to establish goals, focus on self-improvement, and boost motivation. As you consider your resolutions this year, are you prioritizing personal growth, professional achievements, or both? Happy NYE! #tptuesday #goalsetting #growthmindset

We've put together our first-ever Turning Point Holiday Cookbook this year, filled with special recipes and traditions submitted by each member of our staff. To give you a taste of what we're cooking, we're sharing a recipe from Angela Wilkins. Every Christmas Eve she makes Cioppino, a fisherman's stew with origins traced back to Italian immigrants in San Francisco. Perfect for seafood lovers on a cold winter night. https://lnkd.in/dfnhZWUa Download the recipe using the link, and if you have any of your own favorites, please share them in the comments! Happy Holidays!

The recruiting landscape has been a whirlwind over the past few years, marked by dramatic shifts in the workforce and evolving hiring strategies. As we prepare for 2025 and beyond, Kristina Angel outlines what you need to know about winning over top talent: 1. The Myth About Employer Control: The best candidates always have options and the ability to seek new opportunities - this is especially true in finance and accounting, where there is a shortage of skilled professionals. Companies that focus on creating an employee-centric atmosphere will retain their best talent. 2. Culture Matters: According to a survey by Jobvite, 70% of job seekers consider company culture a significant factor when deciding whether to take a job. 3. Salary Transparency is Alive & Well: Employees are openly sharing their salaries online and with colleagues, a trend that is pushing salary transparency and equity to the forefront of hiring conversations. Currently, over 20 states prohibit employers from asking about current salaries, and many require salary ranges to be included in job postings. 4. Put On Your Sales Hat: Every hiring manager needs to approach interviews with the same energy and focus as they would when closing a deal - sell candidates on culture, growth opportunities, and impact to make them feel inspired about making this move. 5. The Skills Gap Continues to Widen: According to a Deloitte study, 87% of hiring managers in finance and accounting struggle to find skilled talent. This challenge isn't limited to finance; fields like engineering, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare also grapple with a shortage of qualified workers. Investing time and resources into internship and training programs helps ensure that tomorrow's workforce is prepared to meet the evolving needs of your industry. 6. A Move Towards Smaller Companies: In the wake of large layoffs this past year, professionals are now gravitating toward smaller companies, seeking more meaningful roles. 7. Get to Know a Strong Recruiting Partner: Job postings aren’t a reliable enough tool to bring in top talent. A large subset of the best candidates are passive—globally, around 70% of the workforce falls into this category, meaning they aren’t actively looking for new jobs but are open to opportunities. #hiringtips #recruiterinsights #executivesearch
