True Anomaly

In recent years we have observed increased activity by our adversaries in the space domain. Jackal is our response. On December 21, we launched Jackal on our second mission, Mission X-2 (MX-2) aboard Bandwagon-2 with SpaceX. We have now successfully contacted, downlinked data, and commanded Jackal, our Autonomous Orbital Vehicle, via Mosaic, our software platform, as it makes laps around the Earth. Let's talk about performance testing at True Anomaly. In the performance testing phase, True Anomaly puts its systems to the ultimate test, leveraging our advanced physics backend in #Mosaic, alongside our #Jackal spacecraft to simulate a wide range of scenarios the vehicle could encounter on orbit. Our goal is to ensure that every component performs as expected, even in the most challenging conditions. So what are we looking at below? Leanne Nutter, one of our incredible test engineers is conducting optical tests on both our long-wave and short-wave infrared (LWIR/SWIR) cameras, ensuring they perform optimally in various conditions. Additionally, we use a in-house scene generator, developed by Evelyn Ruff on our GNC team, to test our star trackers. This tool helps us validate the system's ability to determine precise attitude solutions - critical for the Jackal's ability to accurately point while on orbit. These two tests are only a small component of our performance testing campaign to internally qualify our hardware and software for launch. Earlier this week at TechCrunch Disrupt, Even Rogers emphasized that companies should prioritize true operational requirements when developing defense tech. Trying to cater to both the United States Department of Defense and commercial markets can dilute focus and impact. “The tech is table stakes, the talent is table stakes. What you have to master is a go-to-market strategy that starts with operational advocacy and clarity about the operational requirements.” Do you agree? Even Rogers, our CEO, had this to say: "The procurement of additional rapid, responsive launch capacity from Firefly beyond VICTUS HAZE, paired with True Anomaly's rapid manufacturing capability, will enable standing capacity for the US National Security Space enterprise to rapidly respond to mission requirements in Low Earth Orbit and Medium Earth Orbit." This multi-launch agreement provides for three launches, including VICTUS HAZE, as well as two additional launches between 2025 and 2027.
