Affirming life at every step of your journey with illness and loss

About us

TRU Community Care affirms life at every step of your journey with illness and loss. Our vision is to lead a healthcare transformation by engaging with our communities and offering innovative, meaningful care for those living with illness and loss. Founded as Boulder Hospice in 1976, TRU Community Care is a Colorado-licensed, Medicare and Medicaid-certified, nonprofit health care organization serving the greater Boulder, Broomfield, Adams, Jefferson, and Weld Counties. With a focus on providing a continuum of care for members of our community living with advanced illness and loss, TRU’s programs include TRU PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), hospice home care, inpatient hospice care (at Longmont United Hospital), palliative care, grief support services, and community education and outreach. TRU has always been a community effort — owned by the community, supported by the community, and shaped by the community — since its founding in 1976. Our expert, professional staff offers people with advanced illness and their families high quality medical, emotional, and spiritual care at one of the most profound and vulnerable times of life. In addition to our high quality clinical services, we are committed to sharing our expertise and resources with individuals and organizations throughout the region. Every year, TRU offers numerous educational workshops, specialized grief support groups, and remembrance events. Visit www.trucare.org for more information.

  • TRU Community Care this week honored 15 Veterans and their surviving spouses/partners in a special pinning ceremony at Balfour Senior Living in Longmont. Staff and volunteers gathered to recognize these brave individuals for their service to our nation. As a Level 5 partner in the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's We Honor Veterans program, TRU Community Care is dedicated to serving veterans and providing exceptional end-of-life care. These pinning ceremonies offer Veterans an opportunity to share their experiences and stories, which is a vital part of TRU's commitment to honoring those nearing the end of life. In honor of Veterans Day, TRU Community Care provided Military Recognition Ceremonies to honor Veterans at some of the communities we serve: Life Care Center Longmont, Frasier Meadows SNF, TRU PACE, Balfour Senior Living Longmont and Adara Living. If you are connected with a senior living community and would appreciate a Military Recognition Ceremony, contact our We Honor Veterans champion, beckiparr@trucare.org. • November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and we at TRU Community Care are proud to celebrate our legacy of compassionate care. Founded in 1976, we were honored to be the first hospice in Colorado, pioneering a model of care that puts dignity, comfort, and support at the heart of healthcare. Today, we serve over 1200 patients daily, providing comprehensive care to those who need it most. This month, we invite you to learn more about hospice and palliative care, and how we can make a difference together. ❤️
