🌟 Project Spotlight!🌟 TPD is proud to have recently completed construction inspection services for the River Road Reconstruction Project! This transformative project involved the reconstruction of River Road into a 28-foot-wide roadway, addressing embankment erosion between the road and the South Branch Raritan River with a combination of cast-in-place concrete and soldier pile retaining walls. Additional improvements include the addition of a 4-foot-wide berm along the wall, upgraded guide rails, fencing, drainage enhancements, new pipe outfalls, and erosion protection measures. These enhancements not only improve roadway safety but also ensure the long-term stability of this critical section of River Road. This project, constructed by Sparwick Contracting, Inc., marks TPD’s first assignment with the County under our prequalification, and we are thrilled with the results. Still going strong with our 12 Ways of Giving program, spreading cheer throughout this season of giving!   Our friends at the Salvationarmy hold an annual Adopt a Family program, in which families in crisis situations are identified to be given the ability to step outside of their circumstances on Christmas Day and enjoy the holiday as a family. The members of our “adopted” family of 3 received every item requested on their Christmas lists, as well as a gift card for their local supermarket to help out during the holiday season.   Next stop was Athletes in Leadership (AIL), whose mission is to empower ambitious student-athletes to become leaders on and off the field. Their program helps create legacies that transcend athletic careers by fostering the development of essential life skills such as leadership, financial literacy, and personal responsibility. TPD delivered a donation to AIL, and will be providing a speaker in early 2025, Moe Elghawy, to talk to their high school athletes about his career at TPD in the CM/CI field, to provide some STEM exposure and a different perspective. Financial donations are used to help further their leadership development curriculum, hold workshops, provide scholarships for underprivileged students, as well as for training resources.   Last but not least, TPD continues to support the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance (MANNA) in Philadelphia. 10 members of our Philadelphia, PA office joined together to help MANNA staff prepare and package medically tailored meals; these meals are like a prescription for people who suffer from life-threatening illnesses, and help these clients maintain a healthy diet. The meals that are prepared for their clients are all completed in this Philadelphia facility and are shipped across the state. Continuing on our journey of giving back during this holiday season, TPD would like to highlight BrandywineSPCA West Chester and Marine Toys for Tots Foundation   The Brandywine Valley SPCA exists to end animal suffering and to involve the entire community in the welfare and well-being of animals. Our group held a Service Day volunteering event in their facility in West Chester, helping them complete tasks to get organized for their annual "Mega Adoption Event"! We brought along a donation from their wish list with us when we visited as well.   Keeping up with annual tradition, TPD served as a Toys for Tots drop-off location. With help from community members, our staff and their family members, we collected 158 toys that went to local families in need via the US Marine Corps Reserve’s program! MANNA FoodBank, located in Asheville, NC, is a private, not-for-profit service organization working to end food insecurity in the 16 counties of WNC. MANNA is currently rebuilding the organization from the ground up after Tropical Storm Helene wiped out its distribution center and headquarters. Their facility was devastated by the storm and flood waters from the Swannanoa River, resulting in the total loss of everything from food to warehouse equipment. They’re settling into a new 84,000 square foot warehouse that is full with donations ready to go out to those in need.   This #12WaysOfGiving season, TPD and our staff members pooled donation funds together to make a contribution of $8,000 to help them, and in turn the surrounding community members, recover from the devastation. During this week of gratitude and reflection, we extend a special "thank you" our TPDers who lent a helping hand to our friends at @nicutoday (TIAGD) last Friday! Founder and former Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) mom, Martha Sharkey, started TIAGD when she and her husband (Co-Founder) recognized the need for support of families with babies staying in the NICU. They provide care packages, emotional and financial support, and much more to families in hospitals across the tri-state area and beyond. During our visit from Martha, we learned about TIAGD's mission, weaved fabric bonding squares which help babies and parents bond through smell, and provided a financial donation.
