Our renowned data scientists are making a big impact around the world, showcasing the power of Tonal while gathering learnings that will help Tonal continue to evolve. 💪 Earlier this month, Giuseppe Barbalinardo, PhD, Tonal’s Head of Data Science and AI, and Steven Hirsch, Ph.D., Staff Data Scientist, headed to Montevideo, Uruguay to represent Tonal at the 3D Analysis of Human Movement, Rehabilitation, and Sports Medicine (3DAHM) Conference. 📈There, they presented their game-changing research which laid the groundwork for Tonal’s ability to predict when people may fail during exercises, leading to even safer workouts and enhanced metrics. 📝 They also learned about the most up-to-date research on human movement and seeded future opportunities for collaboration with leading scientists. Tonal has made amazing strides in helping people train better, but we’re only just getting started! Thanks to our incredible team members, we continue to level up.

To do your best work, you need to REST. Overtraining can decrease performance, change your mood, and weaken your immune system. 😓 The same goes for overworking. 💡 According to a study by the World Health Organization, long working hours increasing deaths from heart disease and stroke. It's important to set boundaries, and make time to eat well, exercise, sleep and more. At Tonal, we offer an above average holiday package, flexible vacation days and encourage employees to take breaks (especially if it's a Tonal workout 💪). We often think that conditions like sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass, strength and function) as only effecting the very old, and it’s true that sarcopenia tends to be diagnosed later in life, but the warning signs are present much earlier! In a Live Q&A session with our members this week, Tonal Senior Product Manager Brooke Sanderson and Director of Applied Training Science John Christie took a deep dive into Tonal Training Goals and the personalized metrics that go into them. 🌟 Whether your goal is to get stronger, lose weight or more, we've developed the best possible measures to #PowerProgress. 🤔 When working out on Tonal, you don't have to question if you're hitting your goals, your personalized targets will track your progress for you. 🎯 The weekly personalized targets give a little room to account for variability which is super important when it comes to training. “What gets measured, gets managed,” Christie explained. “When there's no target, we've seen within some of the data over time that workouts may become sporadic and have a lot of variability week to week.
