  • Your New Year's resolution is doomed. It's not just you. Only 10% of all resolutions lead to lasting change. Why? Change is hard. * Your habits have to change * The way others relate to you has to change * Your environment (home, work, fridge, etc) has to change * You need accountability, especially for big changes Instead try blocking off just 1 hour a week to start, and prioritize whatever you want to be different. Why? Because as you read "1 hour", you thought "No way. That's way too little!" And that's exactly why this will work: you're actually going to do it. After a few weeks, this one hour will be your new normal, simply what you do week over week. When this happens, take the next step and add another hour, repeating the same process. You can grow the number of hours you protect as big as you like, and slowly but surely take control of your time to get the life you want.

  • Block off an hour on your calendar and just do the thing you’ve been putting off. Do it today. Do it first thing. Don’t wait. Maybe it’s making that one critical call, or writing that one blog post, or just taking an hour to journal and think expansively again. Tell people you need it, it’s an important personal hour. 95% of the time they won’t even ask why. STOP putting off the things you know you need. START getting momentum on controlling your time.
