Thirty Madison’s Chief Medical Officer, Neil Parikh, MD, traveled to Washington, D.C. for the first-ever White House Conference on Women's Health Research! We were proud to participate in yesterday’s event, hosted by President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden and focused on clinical research and investments in women’s health. One of the first experiences women have in today's healthcare system? Birth control. More than 90% of women use contraception at some point in their reproductive years. When we broaden access to contraception, we give women the tools they need to live life on their own terms. Reproductive health is key to the care we deliver at Nurx. And while we strongly believe that reproductive care is essential healthcare, we envision a world where every condition that impacts women — mental health, menopause, metabolic health, and beyond — is considered essential healthcare. We remain committed to building the future-state of women’s health: comprehensive care made simple, accessible, and affordable, so that women can experience the full range of healthcare they deserve. Thanks for having us! Pictured: Jannine Versi (left); Neil Parikh, Chief Medical Officer (center); Aditi Mallick, MD (right)

Following the 2024 election, we’ve received questions from patients and members of our community concerned about potential impacts the election results could have on reproductive healthcare. In response, we are hosting a virtual panel discussion with thought leaders in the reproductive health and fertility spaces to share more about the changing landscape of reproductive rights. Join us for a virtual panel discussion on December 9 at 4pm PT/7pm ET. We will be in conversation with Dr. Monica Pasternak (fertility specialist at Spring Fertility), Amanda E/J Morrison (Co-Founder of Julie Care), Delphine O'Rourke, JD (Healthcare Attorney and Advisor), and Rajani Rao (SVP of Nurx from Thirty Madison). This panel discussion is intended to assuage fears related to accessing ongoing fertility care as well as to empower attendees with information to make empowered decisions about their healthcare and future family-building goals. Thirty Madison is proud to work with Health Action Alliance in the fight against HIV. We are committed to supporting those most at-risk for HIV by increasing access with Nurx's TelePrEP Program for employers across the country. To date, our program has had an HIV infection rate of 0%. While strides in access to PrEP have been made, they haven’t been made equally. Significant disparities in PrEP access exist across genders, geographic locations, and race. Women account for nearly 20% of new HIV diagnoses in the U.S., yet only account for 7% of people prescribed PrEP. Thank you to the Nurx clinical team who lead the charge in providing compassionate patient care, eradicating stigma around HIV and improving public health awareness of this life-changing treatment.
U.S. Business Action to End HIV is proud to have become the nation’s largest coalition of employers — mobilizing over 100 companies — committed to filling gaps and accelerating progress to help end HIV in the U.S. In just two years, the Coalition has: ✅ Created a robust B2B learning community guided by HIV community leaders. ✅ Enabled impactful partnerships and built connections between business and public health. ✅ Mobilized businesses to champion HIV policy priorities. ✅ Received national recognition for our impact. This World AIDS Day, we’re at a pivotal moment in the fight to end HIV. Ending the epidemic in the U.S. is within our reach, but achieving this goal will require a united effort from all sectors of society — particularly the business community. There’s an opportunity to harness the power of the private sector and bring innovation and new thinking to this fight. It’s #ThnxBirthControl Day from Power to Decide. While 2024 was a challenging year for reproductive rights, we were proud to kick off new initiatives and collaborate with key partners to foster more education, build awareness, and continue to expand access to contraceptive care. Highlights from this year: - Launching a Contraceptive Access campaign focused on supporting reproductive freedoms. This included partnering with groups (like Power to Decide!) to help people take action by educating themselves on their reproductive and sexual healthcare choices. - Conducting our 2024 Reproductive Rights Watch survey to shed light on women’s sentiments towards their reproductive rights ahead of the 2024 election — including their thoughts on birth control access. - Presenting at APHA on asynchronous telecontraception, demonstrating how platforms like Nurx can 1) improve the quality of life for those seeking birth control outside of just pregnancy prevention and 2) identify preventative care gaps for women. - Partnering with the Coalition to Expand Contraceptive Access to provide insights from the private sector on advancing contraceptive access and sexual and reproductive health equity more broadly. Preparing for 2025 means there is more work ahead of us. In the meantime, we'll take a moment to thank birth control because it is safe, effective, and improves the quality of life for so many every day.

Last week, Nurx by Thirty Madison saw a 400% spike in daily patient requests for prescription Ella on Nov. 6 as well as a 600% increase in Plan B — the highest daily volume since the fallout of the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Leading women's healthcare companies working to expand access to reproductive care experienced similar upticks. We continue to our work to ensure every patient receives the high quality care they need and to support women looking to explore what healthcare options are best for them. This week, Cristin Hackel, Nurx Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN, WHNP-BC, MSCP) presented at the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. Cristin shared research from Nurx highlighting how telecontraception provides an alternative option for those seeking contraceptives and why women need birth control for a variety of reasons. Results from 350,000+ patients showed less than one-quarter (23%) of patients were seeking birth control just to prevent pregnancy: - 48% used BC to decrease cramps and bleeding - 32% used BC to improve acne - 30% used BC to skip periods - 29% used BC to help manage mood swings/PMS/PMDD - 11% used BC to help manage symptoms of PCOS or endometriosis Women deserve access to more contraceptive care options that improve their quality of life. We’re proud to have clinical research teams dedicated to promoting the importance of contraceptive access in important forums and conferences like APHA!

Misinformation has swarmed social media platforms, with real consequences for millions of people — especially women looking for the truth about their reproductive and sexual health. With insufficient sex education and abstinence-only curricula on the rise, Nurx by Thirty Madison is investing in ways we can solve this issue with our newest campaign, Nurx Ed. What we're doing: Collaborating with content creators to share accurate and helpful information that is often stigmatized and met with discomfort. Our goal: Combat misinformation online with the facts women need to know about their health and their bodies to get them started with the sex education they deserve. "Nurx Ed" is now in session on Instagram and on TikTok. Lookout for featured content with the official “stamps” of approval from Nurx.

As the topic of menopause continues to gain well-deserved traction behind celebrities like Oprah and Halle Berry, we know that knowledge gaps still exist for women approaching this phase of their life. Credible, clinical voices can support women by sharing the facts about treatment options that are effective in treating their unique symptoms. Hear directly from Nurx’s Medical Director of Women’s Health Navya Mysore, who spoke with First for Women to share her recommendations on how to have conversations with your providers to ensure they are listening and not dismissive of your symptoms. She also notes how patients should feel empowered to ask clarity around options like hormone replacement therapy to better understand which option might be right for you. #WorldMenopauseDay
