Congratulations, Sherry Phillips, on your new role as CEO of Forbes Media, the first female CEO in Forbes’ 107-year history! I am incredibly proud to celebrate this historic achievement with you. From being appointed Chief Revenue Officer in 2022, where she expertly led Forbes’ revenue-driving business across digital media, branded content, events, and marketing, to now taking the reins as CEO—Sherry’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. In 2024, under her leadership, Forbes achieved one of its best years yet, with a 50% increase in site traffic and a 40% growth in Live events revenue. Media defines culture, culture defines change, and change defines action. Sherry is an example of how businesses and leadership can create change and advance equality along the way. Here’s to you, Sherry, and the incredible impact you’re making!

✨ 'Tis the Season for Connection: Catalyst Now – Accelerating Impact ✨ As I continue exploring the power of networks this holiday season, I'm thrilled to celebrate a network redefining what it means to spark global transformation: Catalyst Now (formerly known as Catalyst 2030). ✨ Why #Catalyst, now? Because change can't wait. In just a few short years, this community has grown from a visionary idea into a vibrant global movement—uniting nearly 5,500 changemakers across 144 countries and launching over 100 collaborative projects. With every step, #CatalystNow proves we don't have to wait decades to see meaningful impact. We can co-create it today. 🤝 My Journey with #CatalystNow 🤝 Earlier this year, I got my first taste of their incredible culture of innovation and action during #CatalyzingChangeWeek. I was energized by the diverse voices from every corner of the planet sharing solutions, insights, and challenges. It was an immersive lesson in what can happen when thinkers, doers, and dreamers unite to push the boundaries of what's possible. Since then, I've become a full-fledged member, and yesterday, I received the official certificate marking my active involvement in this dynamic community! It's a reminder that what started as curiosity has turned into deep engagement and ongoing contribution. Catalyst Now is not just a network I admire—it's one I'm proud to be part of. 🌟 What Sets Catalyst Now Apart? 🌟 🤝 Global Collaboration: It's about more than connecting diverse leaders; it's about weaving together unique perspectives to tackle the world's biggest challenges—sustainably and ethically. 🚀 Bold Action: With the #SDGs as our compass, Catalyst Now drives forward solutions that uplift communities, regenerate ecosystems, and ignite systems change. 🌎 People and Planet First: Catalyst Now's values align with my belief that true innovation places human well-being and environmental care at the heart of every decision. 🌍 An Invitation to Co-Create the Future 🌍 In this season of reflection and renewal, #CatalystNow is a living testament that when we unite across borders, sectors, and ideologies, we can accelerate impact far beyond our individual reach. Here's your invitation: 🗺️ Explore new frontiers: Check out Catalyst Now's resources and tap into a thriving community of social entrepreneurs and system-changers. 🚀 Join the movement: If you believe collective action can solve the world's most challenging problems, consider getting involved. 🤝 Let's Make Change Happen—Together 🤝 As we celebrate the holidays and look toward a new year, let's remember that networks aren't just connections; they're catalysts for a more equitable, sustainable future. With #CatalystNow, I've discovered a global family of innovators, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them, transforming visions into real-world progress! Ready to be part of something bigger? Join Catalyst Now, and let's shape the future—now. 🌍✨

Early on in my career, I was told there was I was "too emotional." Despite that, I became the only female CEO among the top 25 in the market research industry. Later, I founded The Female Quotient to challenge outdated workplace norms and create a future where everyone can thrive. The stereotype that women are “too emotional” to lead effectively—especially in uncertain times—is not just outdated; it’s simply wrong. Research from 137 leader-report pairs in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic found that while women experienced higher levels of anxiety, they were far less likely than men to let it negatively impact their leadership. The study highlights women’s unique strengths in leadership. Anxious male leaders were more prone to hostile behaviors, while women consistently led with compassion and prioritized family-supportive actions. Have you ever been told you're "too much" or "too emotional"? Let me tell you this: we’re not too emotional—we’re passionate. Own your strengths, know your worth, and never let anyone define who you are or what you’re capable of. Learn more and subscribe to The FQ Newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/gnMKEyrT

I will speak at #CXOTalk, "AI and Trust: Navigating Truth, Deception, and Human Impact," in three and a half hours. My fellow panelists are David Bray, PhD and Anthony Scriffignano, Ph.D., and the moderator is Michael Krigsman — one of the best podcast hosts and an expert on anything #digital and #AI. Stay tuned for a provocative, down-to-earth discussion and concrete suggestions for implementing beneficial AIs. My audience knows that I have always been against the #EUAIAct and consider AI and robotics technologies imperative to ensure #competitiveness and contribute to mitigating the #demographicalcrisis in the Western World. I am all in favor of investing in ethical and beneficial AIs involving as broad a pool of experts as possible in standardizing definitions, choosing best practices in AI development and testing, and working on consistency and interoperability of #ML solutions. Rethinking our approaches to managing #cybersecurityrisk - including the necessity to quantify #cyberexposure - is a must in the context of the progressing AI, as cybercriminals use #machinelearning and #automation technologies for their dark purposes. At the same time, our use of #syntheticdata increases the volume and scope of #digitalassets. Our humility is as crucial as perpetual learning and self-learning. I am deeply grateful to everyone who attends in person, despite the late hour in Europe! Finally, we must establish a context for a better societal dialogue about automation and AI. This requires efforts from individuals, communities, companies, and governments. The dialogue can't come from the angle of angst and wishful thinking that "forbid-and-regulate-to-death' removes a problem. It creates a new one. I am deeply grateful to have been called on a virtual stage with Anthony and David. I will learn a lot - and have fun on the go! We might be in tech, but it has always been about people! Imagine seeing yourself on a billboard in Times Square! I was so excited to see CCWomen featured there recently, and walking the streets in NYC again last week reinvigorated my excitement. Being a member of the incredible CCW community, where Mosaicx is a supporter and sponsor, is such an honor. We look forward to continuing our sponsorship through 2025 and beyond. I’d like to give a special shout out to Sandy Ko Fonseca, Founder and Principal at CCWomen, and to all of the women in this incredible organization who make a difference every day. In mid-November, I published "Romy, Roby and the Secrets of Sleep," the first of the "Romy and Roby" AI Series for the whole family. The book is a combination of fiction and easy-to-digest science. The narrative is about the adventures of a food-obsessed British Short Hair Romy and a nerdy Android Roby on its quest to receive a much-desired quantum processor. The "Science Behind" is a collection of over 140 mini-articles explaining AI, robotics, and quantum computing, and it presents links to articles and video tutorials for those in love with learning. The dynamic links make the e-book the most interesting piece from the whole collection - a paperback, an e-book, and an Audible. However, the most incredible pleasure can be found in the Audible, which should be released in a week. Last Thursday, I did the first book presentation and a public reading at wildpalms, a fabulous art gallery in Dusseldorf specializing in Latin-American arts and currently featuring an exhibition of Nika Fontaine. The conversation rushed and smoldered like a flame – from the technical properties of LLMs to whether Europe can still achieve great things in technology, from corporate tribal dances over power points to a review of the past thirty years that followed my emigration. I am aware that while writing for Romy and Roby, I go against all the trends. I am not glorifying AI or crusading against its current capabilities. Curiosity and willingness to do things not because they are easy but because they are hard are fundamental human triggers. I did not put out a fifty-page book with more illustrations than words. Instead, I embrace what I call the Russian doll type of writing, giving every age group an opportunity for discovery and time well spent. When we think about what makes humans special, we focus on intelligence. The world isn't about cleverness alone, though. It is about perpetual education – and here I differentiate from what we know about AI learning. Humans can gather diverse kinds of knowledge, often in a slow, serendipitous way, and knit them together. This explains why the books we read in college might only be understood decades later. It also illustrates why the best experts don't rely on what they trained in school or the first twenty years on the job. Education is always about open ends. I am fully convinced it is the only way to achieve excellence—with and without the use of smart machines we already have and will build. There aren't quick fixes to help people understand and embrace a difficult path to educate themselves. Communication is key, and it is getting increasingly hard to spread the word through social media due to the pollution of fast-food content to satisfy short-term vanity escapism. I hope some of you can help me spread the word about "Romy and Roby." It is available on Amazon and at www.romyandroby.ai. As for the fun part, the song "What Does it Mean to be Smart?" is part of the Audible. Needless to say, the music score is included.
