About us

ThermaPlate is a design and build manufacturer of pillow plate type heat exchangers. All of our products are manufactured in our ASME certified shop, using the latest technology in resistance and laser welded pillow plate manufacturing. We are able to reproduce any Platecoil, Temp-Plate, or Laser-Plate products. Our common arrangements include immersion plates, plate banks, clamp-on jackets, integral tank jackets, and custom design heat exchangers. Backed by decades of experience, our engineers bring our customers’ design needs to a quick and successful end product. There are no shortcuts when it comes to knowledge or experience.

    The Heat Recovery Banks shown here are being prepared for shipment to be installed on an oven exhaust system used in the production of animal feed products. This innovative application not only recovers energy but also significantly diminishes the unpleasant odors released into the atmosphere by reducing the moisture content in the exhaust stream. This assembly will be installed on a mezzanine, and due to logistical constraints within the facility, the unit has been divided into three main sections for ease of maneuverability.   • Here we see a collection of (5) bayonet-style heat exchangers preparing for shipment. These units will be installed directly onto API manways and will be used to heat product storage tanks using 100 PSIG steam. The client successfully integrated this heating system into their insulated storage tanks without the need for any tank modifications.

  • ThermaPlate manufactures many custom heat exchangers, but in the last few years, we have become a specialist in freeze-drying applications. These systems operate under difficult thermal conditions, and the design of the ice condenser plates is critical to controlling final product quality and ideal batch times. The client we supplied the following ice condenser plates to, had contacted us originally because the supplier who had made his first units could not help him troubleshoot why they were performing so poorly. After evaluating the existing equipment we discovered gross design flaws with the refrigerant circuiting in the Pillow Plate condenser plates and liquid distributors, explaining the severe lack of performance. This client decided to purchase his next units from ThermaPlate, and once our first units were brought online the client was extremely pleased with the improved performance and the ability to greatly short batch times. A couple of years later this same client has now purchased (16) of these banks from us.
