Resolutions can feel heavy, but what if we focused on self-compassion instead of strict goals? Instead of resolutions that can fade by February, let’s focus on intention-setting, self-compassion, and growth at your own pace. Here’s why ditching traditional resolutions could be the best thing you do for yourself this year. ✨🙏🏾

God bless the psychologists, therapists, and volunteers who provide healing in the most unimaginable conditions—like those supporting families and children in refugee camps. These spaces, often filled with uncertainty and fear, are especially devastating for children. We can never underestimate the power of play. Whether we are using it intentionally as therapists or simply connecting with the children in our lives—our kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or godchildren—play is a pathway to connection, healing, and empowerment. I echo the importance of children being able to use play to take control of their worlds. Their imaginations become a place of safety and freedom. As adults, we have the honor and privilege to enter their worlds with them, to bear witness, and to provide support. If you feel moved to act, consider donating to organizations that bring relief and healing to vulnerable children and families: 🔹 Women's Refugee Commission 🔹 US Border Children's Relief Fund 🔹 Doctors Without Borders We can’t solve everything, but even small contributions make a difference. Is AI the future of mental health care?  🤔 As we navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of technology, it's important to approach innovations like AI in therapy with both optimism and discernment. Let’s weigh the pros and cons, so that we can ensure that this technology is used responsibly, ethically, and effectively to enhance well-being while preserving the human connection that lies at the heart of therapy. Here are some advantages to consider when using AI for therapy: AI can increase accessibility by reducing barriers related to cost, location, and language. It also offers immediate support, eliminating wait times, and provides anonymity, allowing users to engage in therapy anywhere and anytime as long as they have a device. However, there are also cons to AI therapy. One significant drawback is the lack of human empathy—AI models may lack genuine emotional understanding and the ability to form meaningful therapeutic relationships, which are critical for healing (though this may improve over time). Another concern is over-reliance on AI tools, which might lead to poor identification of high-risk situations, such as severe depression or suicidal ideation. Additionally, AI systems trained on biased data may perpetuate stereotypes or provide culturally insensitive responses. Finally, privacy is a critical issue, as therapy involves sensitive personal information, and there’s always a risk of data breaches or misuse of private data collected by AI systems. AI can play a valuable role in increasing access to mental health resources and providing supplementary tools for therapy. However, it cannot replace the depth, empathy, and contextual understanding of human therapists. A hybrid approach, where AI supports but does not replace human therapists, may offer the most effective and ethical use of this technology. Check out this piece by Forbes and let me know your thoughts! ⬇️
