    Today, I want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate an extraordinary year for Vitality Global. 2024 has been predictably amazing, marked by our expansion into 41 markets and positively impacting the lives of over 42 million people. Our core purpose of making people healthier and enhancing and protecting their lives has been our guiding star, with a mission to transform global insurance markets through shared-value – turning traditional insurance into something truly game-changing. This year, we've achieved many milestones. We've had the pleasure of collaborating with our partners in person through delegations, summits, and Vitality events. We published groundbreaking research, in collaboration with the London School of Economics, to quantify habit formation, launched new reward partners such as Adidas, Expedia, and Headspace, and rolled out our new mobile experience. We've won awards and celebrated significant achievements by our partners in their respective markets. This journey has been made possible through the incredible collaboration with our insurance partners worldwide and the support of over 150 programme partners. Together, we've disrupted the insurance category by proactively addressing member behaviour, monetising health, and driving positive behaviour change. Our exciting rewards keep our members motivated and inspired to create and maintain healthy habits that last.     I moderated a panel discussion hosted by Health Plan Alliance this week. The focus? How regional health plans can crack the nut when it comes to leveraging digital tools and data analytics to amplify their health equity strategies and health improvement initiatives. Our panel focused on how these tools can uniquely unlock three critical elements of a comprehensive health equity strategy: (1) Amplifying the impact of limited resources with a data-driven approach; (2) Personalizing engagement at scale; (3) Committing to a disciplined and rigorous evaluation framework to maintain steady innovation. The importance of a *DATA-DRIVEN APPROACH*: Health plans often struggle with the sheer volume and complexity of data available. However, by harnessing the power of data, we can identify rising risks early, allowing for quicker interventions and connections to necessary resources. This is crucial for improving health outcomes and preventing hospital readmissions. For example, at Vitality Group Inc., we developed a targeted outreach strategy for potentially high-risk members using only eligibility data and socioeconomic variables from their zip codes. This allowed us to create a risk score and identify areas to focus our resources, even before members engage with our program. Once they do engage, we build a more robust profile tailored to their individual information, behaviors, and risks. The significance of *PERSONALIZED ENGAGEMENT* (and getting it to scale): It's not enough to have data; we must use it to tailor our outreach efforts to meet the unique needs of a diverse population. This includes culturally sensitive and smart outreach, understanding barriers to engagement, and providing personalized recommendations. Vitality Group Inc. uses behavioral economics to design interventions that are more likely to be accepted and adopted by diverse communities. This approach takes into account the behavioral drivers and hindrances of different communities. As part of our "Health Equity by Design" approach we ensure all materials are accessible and easy to understand, prioritizing financial inclusivity and providing information on affordable and free resources. Another critical aspect is the *EVALUATION FRAMEWORK*: Moving from strategy to execution requires rigorous test-and-learn methodologies. We must be willing to innovate and experiment, and we can make great forward progress even when we don't have a complete 360-degree view of the member. This involves setting clear and measurable objectives, utilizing test-and-learn methodologies, and leveraging real-time data and feedback to make timely interventions and adjustments. It requires flexibility and adaptability to refine strategies based on new data and member profiles, ensuring that interventions remain relevant and effective. It's true: HEALTHCARE IS LOCAL... but by leveraging tools like these effectively, we can make it PERSONAL, and more effectively address health disparities.
