The Energy Centre on Poydras Street, the fourth largest office skyscraper in New Orleans, has a new owner after lenders foreclosed on the Hertz Investment Group, which was unable to negotiate new financing. Triangle Capital Group, a real estate firm headquartered in New York City, took over the 39-story building in early November after negotiating with lenders who had foreclosed on the building in August. Hertz defaulted just over a year ago when payments on the $56.5 million mortgage came due and it was unable to negotiate new financing terms. The sale price was not disclosed.

How important are #brandpartners in emerging industries like #medicalmarijuana? Randy J Mire, Pharm.D, an early investor in dispensaries in Louisiana, said throwing in with Cookies, a national chain that has partnerships with former NBA great Gary Payton and rappers such as Rick Ross, El-P and Killer Mike was a coup for his business and potential growth. "People are such creatures of habit. As they see something they're familiar with, that's going to raise the awareness," said Mire, who is opening his second dispensary and has more planned. His story is featured in The Times-Picayune's Talking Business column. #louisiana #entrepreneurs #brandbuilding https://lnkd.in/gX_MAZj3

James Bradford is a Covington attorney with big plans for the Mandeville shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain, across the causeway from New Orleans. 🏝 He owns enough land for a row of waterfront mansions that would offer stunning views of the lake. 🛠 But building on Mandeville's lakefront is no easy task. Just ask the developers who tried, and failed, to get other projects through over the years. Alex Lubben has the story that's well worth a read. #Mandeville #Neworleans #development #realestate #lakepontchartrain https://lnkd.in/gUPRxzxM

It sat idle and abandoned on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain for decades. Now, a rebirth of Lincoln Beach is underway in New Orleans, with more than $24 million set aside to rebuild the former waterfront oasis. 🌴 What's in store? Officials say an elevated waterfront restaurant, an amphitheater, a children's playground, a small store and a pool are all in the mix. So too are a bigger beach, a history museum, a skate park and a host of other recreational features. 🏖 Here's the latest. https://lnkd.in/gfgMcWkJ
