The Sophia Way

Yesterday, on Homeless Remembrance Day, we paused to honor and remember those who have lost their lives while experiencing homelessness. Each life mattered, and each story deserves to be remembered. Thank you to everyone who joined us at Bellevue Downtown Park for a special gathering of reflection and remembrance. Together, as a community, we lit candles, walked the park loop, and held space for those we’ve lost. The event served as an opportunity to come together to reflect, honor, and recommit ourselves to the work of building a compassionate community where everyone has the chance to thrive. 💙

After falling on hard times, Joanne could start fresh at Sophia’s Place. There, she was able to take her time and find a job that she loves without the stress of not having a place to be safe at night. After about six months at the shelter, she is now preparing to move into her own apartment.

Thank you to Nikshipta Reddy and Swecha Organization for holding a donation drive for much-needed items to donate to The Sophia Way. Their efforts on our behalf are especially fitting, considering that mission of this organization is to encourage and empower women!

🎁✨ 'Tis the season for holiday gifting! Our gift bags are packed and ready to bring joy and warmth to the women we serve at The Sophia Way. Each bag is filled with thoughtful items donated by our generous community and lovingly packed by our incredible volunteers. 💕 Thank you to everyone who helped make this holiday tradition so special. Together, we’re spreading cheer and showing the women that they are cared for and supported. 💙

Thank you to the wonderful group from OfferUp who recently volunteered to do some remodeling work at our office, conference space, and Sophia's Place! Thanks to their efforts, these spaces are now bright and welcoming. They installed slim desks at the office, giving us more room to move around. They even did some touch-up paint in the bathroom!
