If you want to build an amazing remote team, stop obsessing over experience and start looking for unteachable traits. When we decided to become a fully #remote agency, we were able to tap into talent and perspectives from across the country. After all, if we're representing #creators nationwide, shouldn't our team reflect that diversity? Here's what we've learned about building a strong remote team: The "teachable:" 👉 Industry knowledge 👉 Technical skills 👉 Platform expertise 👉 Marketing strategies The "unteachable" (...what we actually hire for): 👉 Drive 👉 Attitude 👉 Natural curiosity 👉 Communication style 👉 Competitive spirit 👉 Cultural alignment Culture comes first. We're collaborative, supportive, success-driven, and genuinely passionate about this industry. Skills can be taught, but enthusiasm is innate. A decade ago, we had to hire people and "figure it out together" because #influencermarketing was so new. Now we have candidates with 10+ years of experience. But you know what? We still prioritize those unteachable traits over experience every time. What traits do you look for that can't be taught?

  • In the ever-evolving world of influencer marketing, we've learned that success is about much more than just numbers. A lot has changed in #influencermarketing since 2015, but some fundamentals remain timeless. The biggest shift? We've moved away from vanity metrics. Gone are the days when follower counts were everything. Today's creator evaluation is far more nuanced. Here's our current framework for vetting #creators: 1️⃣ Audience quality over quantity: Raw numbers mean nothing if your US campaign reaches 40% Brazilian viewers. We analyze engagement rates, geographic distribution, and demographic alignment to ensure every partnership makes sense. 2️⃣ Content assessment beyond beautiful content: We're looking for consistency and that undefinable "wow factor" that makes a creator stand out in their space. 3️⃣ Career commitment: What’s fascinating is that being a "creator" is now a legitimate career path. Kids aren't just saying, "I want to be a movie star" — they're saying "I want to be a content creator." 4️⃣ Niche specificity: 2015: "I'm an influencer" 2024: "I'm a sustainable fashion creator focused on capsule wardrobes for working moms" But here's what hasn't changed… The best creators still make you feel something. Whether it's joy, inspiration, or curiosity — genuine emotional connection remains the gold standard. What qualities do you look for in creators for your brand partnerships?

  • After nearly eight years in digital marketing, Dayna Ashame was ready for a change - and found her perfect match in influencer management. "I'm a people person and love building connections," she shares. "Influencer management gave me the chance to combine that with the strategic side of my work that I loved. It felt like the perfect shift, and I haven't looked back since." What drew her to TSS? Our transparency and genuine care in an often cutthroat industry. "Jay and Emily put people first - not just creators, but managers too," Dayna explains. Her unique skill? A strategic mindset that uses data and insight to drive creativity. "It's like putting together a puzzle - finding the right pieces to create something beautiful." When picking creators, Dayna Ashame looks for three key things: a unique perspective, consistency, and a strong purpose. Her biggest reward? "Helping people achieve their dreams! There's no better feeling than when a creator shares a goal with you, and you work together to make it happen." Her advice for those entering the creator economy? "Bring discipline, patience, and resilience - if you're willing to put in the work, the opportunities are endless!" Welcome to the team, Dayna Ashame! Get to know more about Dayna in our Team Spotlight live on our blog now. P.S. Everyone go wish Dayna a Happy Birthday! It is today <3.
