  • 🎉 Celebrating the Success of Our First MAZI Education Programme! 🎉 We are thrilled to share that we’ve completed our first-ever MAZI four-week education programme: Nourishing Confidence 🌟 Over the past month, a group of aMAZIng young people came together to create, learn, and share their passion for cooking. From homemade pasta dishes to Somalian canjeera and chicken pies, the kitchen was buzzing with creativity and delicious aromas. 🍝 At the heart of this programme was more than just cooking; it was about equipping our participants with essential life skills. At the end of the four weeks, we celebrated their achievements with certificates accredited by ASDAN. We couldn’t be prouder of this milestone and are already excited for what’s next! For now, we’ll leave you with these inspiring words from one of our aMAZIng participants: "I wish it was longer, and I've learnt to cook a lot of new things. I can't wait to make the recipes for my friends!" Here’s to building confidence, nourishing skills, and creating brighter futures - one recipe at a time. 🍳💚 #FoodEducation #LifeSkills #CommunityEmpowerment

  • Thank you SO much for the shoutout Amelia Christie-Miller! 👏 We're huge Bold Bean Co | B Corp™ fans (equally bean-obsessed here at MAZI) and love brands that share our ethos - could a collab be on the cards? 😉 🫘

AWARDS: Is that validation really important in your business journey? Most of the time - probably not. But when the recognition comes from a place like the BBC Food and Farming Awards, I can only speak for myself - but it really HAS felt important. These awards are not about profit margins or growth trajectories - they've been set up "to honour those who have done most to promote the cause of good food”. Last night, I was lucky enough to be representing Bold Bean Co | B Corp™ as a finalist at them. I'm beyond proud that we managed to get there. I was sitting next to farmers, conservationists, expert food producers and campaigners. All of us fighting for a better food system - relentlessly pushing for change. It was a night of encouragement and celebration - KEEP GOING - was the message to all of us. (And I really needed that message this week!) Here are just a few of the initiatives I heard about last night that I want to share: Deri Reed - An amazing chef that's set up a community canteen where people from all wealth brackets can eat GREAT food together - on a "pay as you can" basis. The MAZI Project - A project supports disadvantaged 16 to 25-year-olds by giving them meal kits where they can learn how to cook whilst being nourished with great quality food. Wasted Kitchen in Kent - a team cooking up delicious meals from surplus vegetables to their local commmunity, using local producers. Burnt Hill Herbs - A circular system farming trout and using the waste water (and nutritious fish waste) to feed bright juicy tomatoes. The Wonki Collective - tech that's enabling food manufacturers to collaborate over surplus ingredients. What I loved about these was that it wasn’t about commercial success of these ventures. It was about values, purpose, and progress. Thank you, BBC Food and Farming Awards, for reminding me why we do what we do. It’s not just about beans; it’s about being part of a collective movement for a better food future and these awards really give me the hope in that future. 💪🌱

  • We had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful group of young asylum seekers and refugees from 1625 Independent People in our kitchen space! 🧑🍳 This is what The MAZI Project is all about: offering vulnerable young people a space to learn, grow, and feel the love through food. 🍽️ From cooking Afghan rice to flatbreads made from scratch, no kitchen surface was left untouched. Celebrating and nourishing ourselves with foods from around the world - what better way to bring people together? 🍚 Big thank you to Pak Butchers for donating the meat for the session 🫶 A HUGE thank you to Falcon Wear for the gorgeous enamel plates—they made each meal feel even more special for our aMAZIng members. #TheMAZIProject #FoodEducation #Bristol #Community
