Meet the inspiring siblings--Ely, Alaqseh, and Shafikah--who've been part of the Max Schooling program since 2017. Despite losing their father to lung cancer, they have shown incredible resilience. 🏥Ely, who sacrificed her dream of higher education to support her family, now works at General Hospital Kuala Lumpur 👨🏽💻Alaqseh is pursuing a diploma in mechanical engineering while supporting his family as a part-time foreman at a car workshop 🏫 Shafikah is excelling in her pre-university studies Their journey is a testament to the power of education and community support💖 Last chance! Donate today to support education through Max Schooling and receive a limited-edition print created by Bunthan, a talented photographer and one of our patients in Cambodia. https://buff.ly/3UEQEMs #MaxSchooling #EndOfYearGiving #TheMaxFoundation

In the midst of the turmoil and devastation caused by war, a hidden crisis often goes unnoticed: the plight of cancer patients ❤️🩹 We constantly look for new and sustainable import pathways to help patients in spite of these situations, including transferring our program to nearby locations when necessary 🚑 A HUGE success occurred this year when we reopened our program in Sudan and dispensed medicines again 💊 We applaud those in our program who accommodate our adaptable solutions in order to remain compliant to their treatment in spite of instability of their regions 🙌🏽 Through the kindness and compassion of generous donors and partners, we’ve been able to serve over 100,000 people whom no one else is helping. https://buff.ly/49HkNjj #AccessToCare #CancerTreatment #OvercomingObstacles #TheMaxFoundation

This month we have a very special colleague to introduce: Cristián Neves Escaffi. Born in Chile and now living in Alberta, Canada, Cristian has served as our Patient Education & Communications Coordinator for Latin America since March 2022. Diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) at age 15, Cristian demonstrates how someone can not only survive but thrive when they have access to treatment! 💊 He received the Dean's Gold Medal for Master of Arts in community engagement from the University of Alberta School of Public Health this year🪙 Thank you, Cristian, for all you do to help keep the voice and perspective of patients at the center of our work 🙏🏽 #ChronicMyeloidLeukemia #HealthcareHeroes #TheMaxFoundation

It is with tremendous admiration and love that we announce our long-time colleague, Viji Venkatesh, will be retiring from her position as Region Head of South Asia as of January 1, 2025 💓 Viji will devote her time to leading Friends of Max and managing its fundraiser, Chai For Cancer. Although her title will change, she will not go far. She will still be a trusted and critical partner. And we look forward to seeing how her Bollywood acting career evolves as well 😎 Throughout her career, Viji has been instrumental in driving change and creating opportunities for vulnerable populations to receive the care they deserve. With a deep commitment to supporting underserved communities, she worked tirelessly to raise awareness about critical health issues, and ensure that individuals have the resources and support they need for better health outcomes. Please join us in sharing warm wishes to our beloved team member and "Amma" 💖 #CancerAdvocate #HealthcareHeroes #TheMaxFoundation
