Meaning: Res judicata (Latin for “a matter judged”) refers to a principle where a final judgment by a competent court is conclusive and prevents the same parties from re-litigating the same issue. This doctrine ensures judicial efficiency, prevents legal harassment, and upholds the finality of judgments. Unlocking the World of M&A: A Transformative Seminar in Kolkata! On Sunday, 24th November, The Legal School partnered with the The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Hooghly Chapter to host a full-day seminar on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in Kolkata. The event was a great success, bringing together professionals and company secretaries for an enriching experience. The seminar featured insightful sessions from Shubham Sharma Director of TLS, who shared his expertise on M&A as a powerful engine for economic transformation, breaking down the key steps involved in M&A transactions, and how it plays a crucial role in business growth. Mr. Shouvik Kumar Guha Associate Professor at WBNUJS, also added incredible value with his deep knowledge of the latest trends in the M&A landscape, and he also discussed some real-life case studies. Participants who completed the assessment were awarded Certificates of Completion from The Legal School, marking their achievement in understanding the complexities of M&A law.
