The Oceans Dwellers - Living in symbiosis with the oceans.

About us

We are shaping the harmonious future of maritime territories threatened by global change thanks to the anthropisation of the oceans. In the medium term, our world and its biodiversity, of which humanity is a part, will have to face unprecedented environmental and societal challenges: climate change, food and energy crises, scarcity of resources, demographic, geopolitical and migratory issues. Gradually, mankind will be looking to the sea for solutions to anticipate or adapt to these changes. To avoid the mistakes made on land in the past, we will need to intelligently bring divergent interests together, and make very different disciplines work in harmony to create synergies that are as efficient and profitable as they are sustainable. In the long term, we think that Man will settle and live on the oceans to work, close to the coasts and then gradually and increasingly offshore. How can we anticipate such a development and ensure that it serves all living beings on Earth? To meet these challenges, The Indigo Civilization advocates the study, operational experimentation and long-term optimisation of Smart Offshore Ecosystems. Created by and for their citizens and workers, they bring together small communities within non-invasive, modular, autonomous, ecological and generative floating ocean cities, like floating artificial reefs. Integrated into their environment and capable of relieving pressure on land without altering the local marine ecosystem, they aim to produce food, fresh water and energy in a renewable way. Ports of the future, oceanic research stations and reinvented places to live, they are an opportunity, a viable solution for anticipating or adapting to serve local communities in the face of the consequences of climate change, such as rising sea levels.
