He emphasized the importance of putting the cannabis industry in the hands of those who have been disproportionately incarcerated for its use. While world leaders and industry players have long recognized the cannabis industry’s potential to generate jobs and wealth, Mr. Cornegy called on us to start educating and mobilizing our communities to join the legal industry now. This past Saturday, September 28th, we gathered in the heart of Harlem for an inspiring community conversation, in partnership with Lead by Example, to discuss a future shaped by equity, justice, and collective power in the cannabis industry. We heard powerful testimonies from our very own CJEI legal team, our Co-Founder, local business owners, council members, and representatives from the NYC Department of Small Business Services.
