Rounding out December with a #CenterSpotlight for two! Wanda and Jada are heroes here at #TCFD and go above and beyond when it comes to providing support to the individuals in our care, making sure they always follow agency protocols to a tee. Wanda has been a school nurse with The Center for 26 years, and is always up to the task, not just as a nurse, but also a mentor to the staff and students she serves. The Center is very fortunate to have a nurse of Wanda’s quality and commitment to the students and staff. And props to Jada, a Senior Education Support Staff, who exhibits a calm demeanor, quick thinking, and dedication to her role - all a testament to her professionalism and commitment to the well-being of those she supports. Her positive energy and ability to handle challenging situations with grace have earned her the admiration of both her colleagues and the individuals in her care. This holiday season, TCFD brought joy and empowerment through our Holiday Adapt-A-Thon! As a proud Chapter of Makers Making Change, we’re creating a more inclusive world by adapting toys for children with disabilities. Thanks to the creativity of our Innovation Makers and the support of our Recreation Team, we transformed ten toys into universally accessible ones. Our residents gained valuable technical skills, while children in our school program crafted holiday cards to accompany the gifts. These toys were gifted to kids in Sullivan County’s Early Intervention Program, with the special moment of personally delivering them at our Discovery Health Clinic. Thanks to everyone involved, families can enjoy the gift of play this holiday season. Together, we’re spreading joy and empowering futures. Nothing beats our annual holiday breakfast for our incredible overnight staff – a favorite tradition of ours where we have the opportunity to thank the amazing team who works tirelessly through the night to care for the residents at #TCFD. This year’s event was filled with delicious food from our DNA team, bright smiles (even after a long shift!), swag bags, and unforgettable memories.
