March for Babies CARES for all families throughout their pregnancy. The Grants walk for their daughter, Sara, who was born at 23 weeks and weighed 1 pound. She spent four months in the NICU. "I really believe she wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for treatments that exist because of March of Dimes," her mom, Chelsie says. "So, I think it's important to spread that word." Today CHCS announced nine states — CA, MA, MI, NC, NY, OR, PA, WA, and WI — chosen for the Medicaid Health-Related Social Needs Implementation Learning Series. This initiative, made possible through support from Kaiser Permanente through its National Community Benefit Fund at the East Bay Community Foundation, will assist states in applying new federal guidance to strengthen health-related social need (HRSN) initiatives for Medicaid populations. States participating in the 12-month program will benefit from peer learning focused on designing and enhancing HRSN initiatives aimed at improving more equitable care for Medicaid members. In 1921, inspired by the medical care for veterans returning from WWI, Prudence Reed Look and eight other women established the Martha's Vineyard Hospital Founding Auxiliary. Prudence raised enough money to outfit the hospital and supplied bedding, hospital gowns, baby clothes, diapers, a clock for the operating room and kitchen equipment. Let's celebrate the legacy of women like Prudence who've shaped our world with their compassion and resilience. #WomensHistoryMonth
