Yesterday, we launched our Veterans Well-Being Survey which shows that our culture remains fixed on viewing veterans through the narrow lens of heroism. According to the survey, 6 in 10 respondents see veterans as heroes, but only 1 in 5 view them as strategic assets. It’s time to shift this perspective. Veterans are not just heroes; they are valuable contributors whose unique experiences and skills can enrich any workplace.   My father, Dan Edelman, a World War 2 veteran, and so many after him, successfully transitioned from military service and established companies that are still thriving today. Today’s veterans bring to civilian life an invaluable set of soft skills: resilience, leadership, problem-solving, adaptability and decision-making. More than 4 in 5 employers (84%) believe their companies will benefit from veteran-focused programs like internships or apprenticeships but less than 1 in 3 (29%) say they actually have programs geared toward veterans. It is time to prioritize and champion veterans as strategic assets in our workplace and in our communities. https://lnkd.in/ggEtUTea

Early Careers Senior Recruiter. Building Pathways for Entry Level & Transitioning Talent at Publicis Media.

On this Veterans Day, we honor and thank all veterans for their service, sacrifices, and steadfast commitment to protecting our country. At Publicis Media's Chicago office, we had the privilege of hosting a Veterans(+) Day Recruitment event on Thursday, 11/6, where we connected with incredible veterans looking to start their next chapter. It was a true honor to spend time with those who have shown up for Americans every day, and we’re excited to open doors for these heroes in the media industry. A special shoutout to our fellow veteran employees Rose B., Jesus Meraz, MBA, GPHR Meraz, and Shannon Nash, who offered their insights during a panel discussion. It was an honor to learn from your experiences and hear more about your journeys after military life. Thank you to ALL veterans for your courage and dedication. Today and every day, we are grateful for you. #VeteransDay #ThankYouVeterans #HiringOurHeroes #TransitioningMilitary #PubVets

Today, NFA recognizes Veterans Day. To thank veterans and active service members for their sacrifices, #NFA recently held events in its New York and Chicago offices. Staff wrote thank-you notes that Operation Gratitude will distribute to service members.   #NFA was also proud to host a conversation with Josh Jones, US Marine Corps Veteran and co-founder and CEO of The Brigade. Josh spoke with Mark K., US Army Veteran and Senior Manager, Futures Compliance about his journey transitioning from the military to the corporate workplace, and the unique skillset veterans bring to professional settings. Thank you, Josh and Mark, for your service and for sharing your experiences with NFA. #VeteransDay
