The Office of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator and Caseworker based in the Senator’s Chicago, IL Office. Expiration Date: 01/12/25 Working with the Senator’s State Team, the coordinator’s primary duties include building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, constituents and communities in the Chicagoland area, gathering feedback from stakeholders to identify key concerns and legislative issues and working with the legislative team on oversight activity related to the identified concerns and issues. Responsibilities include developing outreach plans in designated issue areas to achieve strategic goals for the office, planning, coordinating, executing and staffing outreach events for the Senator in Cook and the collar counties. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for managing constituent casework related to the assigned issues areas. The position requires some travel to communities throughout the area of responsibility and the state. This includes occasional meetings and events during evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, is personable, dependable, a team player, flexible, able to multitask and prioritize and works well under pressure. The candidate should have familiarity with the region and an interest in public policy. A background or experience with customer service is preferred, and strong writing and grammar skills are a must. To be successful, the candidate should be both self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working as part of a large, highly-coordinated team. The expected starting annual salary for this position is $58,000 with benefits. Salary is negotiable based on experience. 2.) The Office of Senator Tammy Duckworth seeks a Staff Assistant & Assistant to the State Director for the Chicago office. Expiration Date: 01/19/25 Staff Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering phones; welcoming constituents; managing front office operations; assisting with the processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence; maintaining office supply orders. Assistant to the State Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to, compiling, printing and organizing documents and memos; notetaking for statewide meetings; scheduling meetings; booking, organizing and processing reimbursements for the State Director. Qualified applicants must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be well organized and self-motivated. The annual salary for this position is $52,674.
