We’re proud to expand our youth services to New Destiny Housing Corporation providing weekly art therapy sessions for 8-12-year-olds impacted by domestic violence. These groups offer a safe, structured space where participants can process experiences, build coping skills, and foster healthy relationships. Guided by a trained art therapist, participants benefit from art directives that help: - Develop new coping skills - Build healthier connections with others as well as their peers - Manage interpersonal frustration - Improve self-esteem - Reinforce the belief that safety is possible in relationships Your support provides these vital opportunities for growth in our youth programs- continue to support these initiatives by visiting https://lnkd.in/dhDJdrmw #thearttherapyproject #createchange #youthprograms

While programs such as the Uvalde Love Project are anecdotal examples of successful art therapy interventions, providers are fighting for wider recognition of the profession. In New York, advocates are pushing for legislation that would allow them to bill Medicaid insurance plans directly for services so that they can work with populations covered by subsidized health plans. https://ow.ly/ka7p50Utuxq
