⚖️ St. Louis courts remain fully entrenched in a Judicial Hellhole®, this year ranked 7️⃣th worst. Courts in St. Louis are known for their warm embrace of junk science evidence, but this year brought an influx of cases targeting makers of life-saving formula for premature infants. After a trial during which they were presented with junk science evidence, a St. Louis jury handed down a $500 million verdict against Abbott Laboratories this year, blaming the company’s product for a premature infant’s tragic health issues. The ongoing litigation contradicts the advice of medical experts and potentially puts premature infants at risk. California’s designation as the 5️⃣th-worst Judicial Hellhole® in the nation has severe consequences for its residents. Data reveals that Californians pay the third-highest ‘tort tax’ in the nation – nearly $2,300 each year. If state lawmakers enacted specific reforms targeting lawsuit abuse, California could increase its gross product by $89.7 billion. 💸💸 California's legal system should protect consumers and workers, not serve as a playground for trial lawyers. ⚖️💸 https://lnkd.in/ezSjwnrD
