2024 – Year in Review, Looking Ahead to 2025 This year, Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) continued its work to support and advance a strong, resilient, trusted, and equitable #publichealth system. We’ve advanced this work by continuing to call attention to the importance of increased and consistent investment in public health. Our annual report, The Impact of Chronic Underfunding on America’s Public Health System 2024 documented the impact of chronic underfunding on emergency preparedness and Americans’ health, . We’ve also consulted with partners across the public health and healthcare sectors to author the Pathway to a Healthier America: A Blueprint for Strengthening Public Health for the Next Administration and Congress. This report provides the new Administration and Congress with a policy roadmap for investing in public health to improve the nation’s health, economy, and national security within six priority areas. TFAH is committed to promoting policies and programs that support health and economic security. Learn more about our work and follow this page to stay updated on TFAH’s work in the New Year! A big thank you to Elise and the The Seattle Times for sharing this sit down piece. It has been a long (and wonderful) four years with a lot of challenges (and successes) along the way. While not everyone may have agreed with every action or decision, I am proud of the fact that we moved #health forward in our state and in our field. We pushed the boundaries while focusing on what mattered the most: being ready for a changed world. The world has indeed changed. I am even more proud of the amazing and dedicated teams (and leaders) that I had the pleasure (and honor) to work alongside.♥️ You can never serve in any of these jobs alone, as it takes the grit, tenacity, skills, and expertise of so many in order to be successful – and successful we have been. It is bittersweet to leave such an amazing team and agency behind yet I am looking forward to the next chapter ~ and that chapter is yet to be written…. https://lnkd.in/g7W8Cj7A

In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) explores the cultural strengths that support Native American health while also discussing the ways that systemic atrocities committed against Native Americans still impact their well-being in the 21st century. The essay urges federal lawmakers to address hardships within Native American communities caused by government actions of past eras and to renew its commitment to improving health outcomes for Native American peoples by removing barriers to federal funding and by fully respecting Tribal Nations’ right to self-determination. Learn about the policies that TFAH’s Blueprint report recommends advancing the federal government’s trust responsibility and treaty obligations to support the health and well-being of Native populations. https://lnkd.in/e8NMPS5y
