The Southwestern Medical District team was delighted to participate in many forums of learning from other green space, design, and health experts this fall, as well as share the innovative process behind the Southwestern Medical District Urban Streetscape and Park project with interdisciplinary audiences. Enjoy a highlight of a couple of these experiences in our December project update. We are thrilled to share the recently published Phase II Equitable Engagement report detailing our findings from engagement activities with the Southwestern Medical District community. It was incredibly rewarding to reflect on the key themes, takeaways, and goals from the community and articulate how these insights informed the Green Park and Green Spine design. For easy access to the report, please visit https://lnkd.in/g4D6eSb4 Thank you for keeping up to date with the Southwestern Medical District Urban Streetscape and Park project this year. Wishing you a joyous holiday season, and we are looking forward to a magnificent 2025!

Lots of growth here at Texas Trees Foundation. The staff and volunteer teams have been hard at work rejuvenating our tree farm out at TXU Energy Tree Farm. Thank you to everyone who helped start a new pavilion and wooded nature path through the surrounding woods and a new accessible path to enter the educational center. We encourage you to visit our tree farm on a volunteer or educational day to learn more about how trees benefit your life and change the world! texastrees.org/volunteer

Check out this great article by NICK WOOTEN at The Dallas Morning News. As DFW transforms and grows, it's critical to remember that access to nature and sustainable green spaces are huge factors in creating a thriving and vibrant city for residents. That's why Texas Trees is committed to working with our city and other partner organizations to increase the number of trees within our urban spaces to reduce heat and pollution, prevent crime, and provide a higher quality of life for all. To see all the exciting ways Texas Trees is supporting the urban forest and creating a healthier, greener Dallas, check out our website at texastrees.org.

Thank you to The Dallas Foundation, Arbor Day Foundation, Origins, Enel North America, Mati-X, and all the volunteers who came out to plant the 30 trees! In addition to planting trees, our volunteers picked up 8 bags of trash, and distributed 2,000 pounds of food to the neighborhood. Your energy and support made this another successful planting! #Trees #TreePlanter #CoolerGreenerHealthierDallas

Thank you to City of Dallas, Dallas Park and Recreation, Crow Holdings, and all the volunteers who joined us in our recent tree planting initiative. We planted 50 trees, bringing more shade, cleaner air, and beauty to Weischel Park. Let's continue to grow and nurture our green spaces, one tree at a time! 🌱Steve Foxall Photography #TexasTreesFoundation #TreePlanting #Community #GreenSpaces #ThankYou
