This week marked the final session of the 2024 Iowa Tech Connect cohort, kicking off with an engaging experience at the Iowa Capitol. Led by TAI’s legislative liaison, Logan Murray JD, MBA, the group toured the Capitol and explored the critical role of policy advocacy in shaping tech legislation through discussions with Iowa legislators. Special thanks to Senator Chris Cournoyer, chair of the 2024 Senate Technology Committee, for sharing insights into the future of technology legislation in Iowa. For their final session, the cohort explored community engagement, focusing on building professional ecosystems and contributing to local communities. We’re grateful to ITLI alumni speakers Tracey Akins (Wells Enterprises), Danielle Brommer (Lean TECHniques), and Joel Marks (Workiva) for leading a dynamic panel discussion on how they’ve cultivated their professional networks throughout their careers.
