Empire AI made The Washington Post's list of "top five greatest hits" in technology for 2024, and we could not agree more.   Read more about how Empire AI proved that artificial intelligence is not just for big tech companies anymore. It can be used to serve our collective interests, from developing cancer treatments to improving weather forecasting and working on other challenges designed to help the public.   Or as Jeannette Wing, Executive Vice President for Research and Computer Science Professor at Columbia University says, "Solving these problems is not in the mission statement of any of these big tech companies."

  • Startup:NYC S1: Meet Lucid.Care Labs! Co-founder Clara Guo, MD MBA is transforming mental health care by bridging the treatment data gap with a patient-facing mobile app and a clinician-facing report. "Treatment is conversational, but 85% of mental health patients struggle to communicate with their clinician. In other words, clinicians do not have all the data they need to make treatment decisions," Clara says. That's where Lucid comes in – it eliminates the treatment guesswork. 🗽 Why New York? As Clara notes: "Quite simply – it’s intoxicating! There are so many opportunities to meet amazing people, and the healthcare ecosystem is robust and innovative." • Our very own President & CEO Julie Samuels has landed a spot on City & State's Responsible 100 list for 2024! The list recognizes "civic-minded leaders who selflessly serve New York," and we can think of no one more deserving of this recognition. As Julie shares in her interview: "At Tech:NYC, we work to ensure that New York’s tech and innovation economy thrives. But there are two sides to that mission – making sure New York is a great place to build tech companies and also making sure the tech sector is helping to support New York."
