Wishing you all happy holidays and a wonderful New Year! ✨ As we approach 2025, what an incredible year 2024 has been. This year, the project truly took off, and among many important events, we would like to highlight a few key moments:    🌱At the ESD conference in Barcelona, the ESD Roadmap was presented. The roadmap will serve as the foundation for the remainder of the project. 🌱 The first Train-the-Trainer course was launched in Barcelona, and nearly 30 participants from all over Europe were prepared to go home and teach teachers in their home countries how to introduce GreenComp in their classrooms.  🌱 Four live ESD Talks on education for sustainable development were launched, covering subjects such as future of healthcare and green skills in construction. 🗣️ ESD TALK #4: Boosting Green Skills in Construction The construction sector is key to achieving the EU Green Deal goals, as this sector is responsible for large emissions and waste generation in the EU. Additionally, the EU construction industry employs 6.1% of the total EU workforce (12,7 million people), and the EU construction ecosystem itself employs approximately 24.9 million people. To achieve the goals set by the EU, there is a need for increasing green and circular skills in the construction sector 🌱 To explore the challenges and opportunities in the construction sector, we at TEACH4SD are excited to host our fourth Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Talk on December 11, 2024. 🌍 Building a Sustainable Future, One Trainer at a Time! 🌱   In September, the Teach4SD consortium brought together nearly 30 committed trainers from 10 countries in Barcelona for an intensive three-day train-the-trainer session.     Our purpose? TEACH4SD is committed to empowering teachers to become leaders and change-makers. The event aimed to equip trainers with the skills and knowledge to teach educators in their home countries, maximizing the project’s impact by empowering more teachers to guide students in addressing sustainability challenges 🌿   The session focused on the 12 GreenComp competencies and essential areas such as systems thinking, futures thinking, strategic thinking, adaptability, and exploratory thinking 💭   This training marks a crucial step in expanding the reach of sustainable development education. We achieve this by empowering all the trainers to implement the program in their respective countries. 🗣️ ESD Talk #3 on Green Solutions! 🗣️ TEACH4SD recently hosted another exciting ESD talk live from the ESD conference in Barcelona. The talk featured Susanne M. Nielsen from European Training Foundation – an EU-agency with key tasks of supporting EU neighboring countries, providing policy advice, and managing peer learning networks within the digital and green transition. At TEACH4SD, our 16 partners across 5 countries share more than just professional collaboration on ensuring sustainable development in education - we also share incredible experiences when we visit each other’s cities. These visits are full of inspiring encounters that highlight the beauty in the different participating countries and motivate us in our work with sustainable development 💚   Our project manager, Ditte Karla Lott Lauritsen, experienced this firsthand during a visit to Barcelona at the beginning of May. She shares 🗣️   "Sorry miss, do you need help? And yes – I did. It was my first time in Barcelona, and I was a bit lost trying to figure out how to use my airport bus ticket at a metro station.
