We need your help! We are a volunteer-run non-profit organization focused on lifting up high school girls with aspirations in technology in Southwest Florida. We are planning the first in-person regional awards event since 2019. This event is significant to the students/educators we will honor this Spring. We are actively looking for a host site for this event. If you can provide your venue for this purpose and/or would like to act as our "Presenting Sponsor", we would love to discuss the details of the event with you. ICYMI: The Edison Awards and Horizon Foundation Lee County is hosting an Artificial Intelligence (AI) + Human Intelligence (HI) Innovation Challenge for high school students. This challenge will leverage Solvably's new AI Center of Excellence for K12. Students will be grouped in teams of 3-5 to collaborate on the creation of a solution to the following challenge prompt: “Lee County has a booming job market but not enough workers! Students’ mission, should they choose to accept it, will be to create an innovative AI-driven solution to help small businesses and critical sectors like healthcare, logistics, construction, manufacturing, and education, bridge the workforce education gap through recruitment, upskilling, automation, and optimized workforce planning.” Community leaders will review the top projects with the first, second, and third place teams winning cash awards, and the winning team being honored at the Edison Awards to be held in Southwest Florida in Spring 2025. Lee County Economic Development Office and CareerSource Southwest Florida also support this challenge. It is pretty cool to see one of SWFL's very own EdTech startups involved in this way. Woot! Woot! We can't wait to see what the students come up with! Guido Minaya, MBA, Ed.D., Angelo Biasi, Minaya Learning Global Solutions LLC, Solvably, Frank Bonafilia, Rob Manes, THE AI SHOW @ ASU+GSV
Solvably is acquired back by Angelo Biasi and launches problem solving modules to support AI Literacy! Read about it here: https://lnkd.in/emkMuZv8

Check out this great opportunity from our friends at the Southwest Florida Affiliate of NCWIT! #bettertogether #swfltech #techtalentpipeline
DEADLINE APPROACHING: The application window for the Aspirations in Computing Award closes at the end of October! If you are a student influencer (parent, educator, counselor, friend, etc.), please take some time to encourage the high school-aged women in your life to apply. Their voice matters to how we build technological solutions to current and future challenges. Our regional affiliate in Southwest Florida serves to connect applicants to resources that can help them as they transition from high school, to college and into the workforce in their chosen field. But we can't support them if we don't know who they are. Please help #girlsintech become #womenintech in #swfltech (and wherever else they might choose to contribute their talents in the future). Information about the Aspirations in Computing program as well as how to apply can be found here: https://lnkd.in/exwMhJ8c
