A force united by a promise to end breast cancer, funding groundbreaking research, community health & advocacy programs.
About us
In 1980, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. Two years later, that promise became the Susan G. Komen® organization and the beginning of a global movement. For over 40 years, we've led the way funding groundbreaking research, community health initiatives and advocacy programs in local communities across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. And with your help, we’ll continue pushing for progress to end breast cancer every day, until it’s a thing of the past. Even as Julie was navigating her breast cancer treatment plan, she knew she had to take action. So, she signed up and started training for her second time walking 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in San Diego. Julie said despite what her body was going through, she still needed to walk in the 3-Day to lend her support to others. This past year, our partner Lori's Gifts stocked their shelves in hospital gift shops nationwide with pink products to inspire those facing breast cancer. A portion of these proceeds generously benefitted Komen's mission to end breast cancer forever, totaling $80,500! Ending breast cancer takes all of us, and we are so grateful to the community hospitals throughout the country that are dedicated to breakthrough breast cancer research and vital patient support. Casey heard the words "you have breast cancer" when she was just 33. "So many thoughts go through your head. I'm a wife and mother," Casey said. "I knew I needed to strong, to be vulnerable, to ask for help." With your support, we can fund lifesaving research and provide ongoing support for people like Casey. Your gift today will be matched 3x by Komen's Board of Directors. https://bit.ly/4goebdl
